I've spent today trying to work from home while managing our cat (Milo). He's a tiny destruction goblin with limited self preservation skills and only seems to sleep for 30 minutes at a time. I imagine this is what having an extremely athletic toddler is like

The scene melted into another...New stockings! They were becoming the rage in the city and Selene IV had invested into an extremely expensive new pair from distant east... She was so excited to wear them to her meeting of High Priestess' the next day she left them draped over the end of her bed so she could slip them on right away the next day! ...but when she awoke, someone had broken into her room and stuffed them full coal... not even the good Kohl, just some stupid black rocks! Her new stockings were ruined by some criminal who hated her socks! Scarabs! The scene melted into another...A slightly younger Selene was walking down the stairs, off to get a drink of water in the dark of night when she spotted a curious green Sphinx tucking all of the Yule decorations and presents into a huge sack. Ooo, Selene had heard of this guy. It was rumored that his heart was three sizes to small... what a genius way to lighten ones heart for the scales of Anubis she though, he must be doing something right! He froze as if he was caught but the younger Selene just said "don't forget to check the top kitchen cupboards, that's where they hid the good stuff" The Grinch smiled a great smile and went to get the extra loot, while an adorable youngster started down the stairs behind Selene. "Is that Sphinx stealing our Yule tree?" the tike asked. "Oh no dear, he's just taking it to fix a light.. or something. Go back to bed!" Selene said and the tiny girl climbed back up to her room.  Just as the little Sphinx was out of sight a monster of a Sphinx peered into the window, and Selene asked what he wanted. "I'm looking for bad children." stated the Krampus. "Oh, then you'll want the girl upstairs! She just watched someone steal all the Yule stuff and didn't even go tell her parents!" The Krampus nodded a thanks and was on his way...

Stocking Stuffer!
What would you like in your stocking? A doll, stuffed bear, yoyo, festive hat, jingle harness, earmuffs, neck wreaths, jingle bells, holiday sleeves or maybe some shuriken?
Contest 1? well the first 'contest' is simply, if you do not own (including your inventory or having equipped) any of the items listed above you simply have to say, "Santa please bring me a ITEM." and you will win one! (for example, if you did not own a set of earmuffs you can ask Santa for a pair and get one!)
See what I mean, can I call that one a 'contest'? I'm not sure, but you can still win stuff so I think it'll work, (-8

If you own a Sphinx or Sphinxes who have ALL of these things (a toy, a festive hat, a jingle harness, earmuffs, some jingle bells, at least one part of the Holiday Dress set and at least one shuriken) attached/worn, you may post them in this thread with the title "I know how to Yule!" and you will win your choice of one of the following;
anything from the list (sometimes you can't have enough earmuffs!)
a Holiday Dress set (dress and sleeves. you may add a Holiday wig and hat or earmuffs if all attached as a set on one Sphinx)
a Prestige Wig voucher
a Yule pet (mouse, hippo, goat, penguin, goose, swan, partridge, hen, blackbird, or a dove)
one costume set or piece from the Spirit of the Past!
All entries for these contests must be posted within 24 hours of this post!

And the scene melted away one last time...
An older Tetisheri walked with a collection of other friends and Priestess down a Yule decorated street, slowing as wandered past the Temple of Bastet. "Do you think she's counting her gold or her boys?" one of the girls asked jokingly. "Probably both... or planning on some crazy scheme to steal even more males for herself!" exclaimed another loudly! "Lower your voices, you don't want want to get her attention or she might come after our boys next..." a third said in a mock sinister tone, and several of the women joined in on the laughs.
Selene IV stood with the spirit watching them joke at her expense, her frown different then earlier in the evening, with more sadness than anger.
"Cut it out... she's not thaaaat bad," Tetisheri said sternly, quieting the pride. "These days with her scheming she'll probably sneak away your girls, pets and all of your shop vouchers too!" starting off a second round of riotous laughs for all.
"I can't bear any more of these scenes Spirit, take me home!" exclaimed a tired and frustrated Selene the IV.
The scene shifted back into the priestess Bedroom and the Spirit of the Past was nowhere to be seen...

Phew, this story is getting a bit real... and dark? Well at least nothing else bad happens in a Christmas Carol, that I can remember at least!

I love the fairies! I'm currently taking a 12+ week design course and just trying to finish out our presentations today. And then I'm treating myself to a really good grilled salmon sammich and salad for dinner. :3 And then maybe just flopping over and vegetate xD I made the yummiest salted salmon for Pooka's onigiri last week. It was so easy and so yummy (and I froze extra pieces for future onigiri or salted salmon needs!) |

I imagine this is what having an extremely athletic toddler is like One of our cats, Chloe is only about 4% devil (she nibbles the edges of tissues sometimes) but Runic is about 47% devil, 2% demon and 51% cuddles. The other day when I was comparing them I said that if I set up a house of card village on the floor she would walk right through town and not knock over a single thing. If Runic tried the same, somehow he's start a fire. |

I imagine this is what having an extremely athletic toddler is like One of our cats, Chloe is only about 4% devil (she nibbles the edges of tissues sometimes) but Runic is about 47% devil, 2% demon and 51% cuddles. The other day when I was comparing them I said that if I set up a house of card village on the floor she would walk right through town and not knock over a single thing. If Runic tried the same, somehow he's start a fire. I very much appreciate this rating scale for cats. Milo is only 1 so we are at 70% devil, 5% demon, and 25% cuddles. We hope this ratio changes as he ages 0.o On the other hand our dog is 98% angelbaby and 2% hellhound. Dog is currently the favorite child |

Yules of the Past (AKA 'memberberries) We've run quite a few Yule events over the last 13 years since the adoptable came into being. So, entering this contest should be easy for most of you... post the saying ' I 'member..." (in bold) along with a note of one of your favourite Sphinx Yule events that you can remember. Those who do so will be entered once into a random draw for the Spirit of the Past. If you own any item from a past Yule (ie. ones from this year don't count) a sphinx given away, a toy, a piece of yuletide clothing attached, a pet, etc post it along with your description (it doesn't need to be from the same Yule) and you will be entered two times. If you don't own a single Yule item (from any year but this one) you may enter by instead posting "I need some holiday joy." and you will not only be entered into the draw twice but are also able to choose one of the following items that were given away in any Yule... (A doll, stuffed bear, yoyo, festive hat, jingle harness, earmuffs, neck wreaths, jingle bells, holiday sleeves, scarf, jingle hat ) You have 24 hours from this post to enter.
A Very Important Note:There are a series of special sphinxes to be given away during this event. They may not be sent in for certing until after the event is over. If you happen to win multiple special sphinxes, you may only keep one. This is to be decided at the end of the event. The other sphinx(es) the same person wins are to be gifted to somebody who didn't win (or was gifted) one of the special sphinxes. |
