Cool! Thanks for the heads up on the linktree thing. I am deep into baldurs gate 3. One of my favorite games ever really. I played it since its full release months ago and still haven't beaten it. Mostly cause I add too many mods and also like making more and more characters. This is my newest character she is Tiefling druid.

So, what is the plan for the first meals of the new year... something healthy to start a new trend? a favorite treat to set the mood of the new year? something help you survive to much Champaign? (-8 I'm going with a mix of the first two, healthy (for me! healthy is a loaded word!) and delicious with leftover pate for breakfast and roasting a duck for dinner, yummmmm. I haven't had a duck in a few years so I'm super looking forward to it!

I'm stuck working tonight but I hope everyone has a safe and fun New Years celebration! I'll be up counting down even if I'm shackled to capitalism while doing so, LOL!

Tonight we're having chicken and dumplings but tomorrow I may try to make some manduguk (korean dumpling or "potsticker" soup) because it's considered good luck in Korean culture. ^^ Happy new years ya'll! This is my soup from a previous year Compared to my mom's who made some that night, too! So I think I did pretty good. xD

both of those meals sound delightful! I've only had salt pork a few times ever but loved it, and I've been looking for a recipe to recreate my fav cornbread recently, (-8
and everything there looks so nice Cryptic but I have to admit I don't know what much of it is! I'm feeling super uncultured atm... It was only a couple of years ago I got to try persimmons though, and they are a treat, (-8 (it's a bit tricky to get them way up here but I see them every year now!)

It's surprisingly easy! They're made with potstickers (mandu - I usually use a pork and vegetable version) in a Korean beef stock broth (we use a powdered stock that makes a clear soup as opposed to brown which is why I specify Korean). Sometimes we add rice cakes (tteok). And the toppings are egg yolk and egg white fried separately and cut into strips, with green/spring onions, strips of beef and strips of seaweed! And the red is some shredded pepper for a little spice if you like that. www.koreanbapsang.com/tteok-mandu-guk-rice-cake-soup-with-dumplings/I think you can order Bibigo dumplings (if you can't find potstickers - any brand would do I think but Korean ones are made a little different with glass noodles and tofu in them) and Dasida beef stock off of Amazon in Canada if you ever want to give it a go! The recipe does a good job describing the soup, too. ^^ This recipe tastes just like my mom makes it. Oh man, yeah, I love a good juicy persimmon. They're not always available here, either, so I grab them when I find them. xD

That all sounds yum and everything makes more sense to me now, thank you! (-8 I was super curious about the yellow and white toppings and for some reason didn't think eggs at all. ...and it gives me some extra fun ideas to play with, (-8

You're welcome! It's definitely easy to put your own spin on it because I've definitely just used regular beef stock, too, when I don't have powder and such. xD
