I quite enjoyed One Piece, and Avatar is so beautifully brought to life it has literally made me tear up with joy. XD But Disney can't make a live action movie right. I consider Malificent to be something different, it isn't even Sleeping Beauty, so I think that's why those movies were good (like you said). I have to admit, Wish is pretty good. ^_^ I liked Moana as well. I HATED Frozen and never understood why people obsessed over it so much. I just found it annoying, especially that snowman. On a side note, I'm super obsessed with Hazbin Hotel at the moment. I really, really loved the series and keep re-watching the musical scenes on YouTube over and over (and I'm sure I'm driving Mr. Pooka nuts with it). Oooo i love hazbin hotel and if you havent watched it yet on youtube i recommend helluva boss too! Also happy birthday Arcane! |

I have a tendency to think that live action remakes are a bit of a lazy way to capitalize on something amazing that already exists. Not saying that all live action remakes are bad, but unless you can retell the story a new way or do something really original with it, leave the wonderful original alone. Disney has only had a few good films in recent years in my opinion. Raya and Encanto were both really good. As for their live action remakes, the only one I like is Maleficent and that's because it's just so different while still showing how the original tale came to be. To be fair, I haven't watched all the other live action remakes, but the ones I HAVE seen were terrible. That might be one of the defining factors... sometimes you can feel the cash grab. ...and I often agree. Some things simply do not need to be remade. ...buuuuut, there is an inner part of me that does really want to see some things 'in real life', which I usually reserve for comic books and fantasy novels, but sometimes beloved animated films and shows. Also happy birthday Arcane! another 1000% agreement, (-8 Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are some of the best animated shows atm! The competition only gets a bit trickier if we count anime... cuz there are also some brilliant anime atm as well.... For Fans of HH and HB, I'd also throw out a recommendation for a couple of comic series you might like, Un/Sacred and Sweet Paprika by Mirka Andolfo. They lean a bit more humorous and naughty (but if you like the HH and HB, I figure you don't need a warning) but share a lot of the same themes and are just plain excellent books. ...also, not demonically on topic, but everything Mirka writes is pretty much pure gold. |

Oh wow! This event is really going to be huge! I've had it planned for a year, started working on it even during the Yule event, and including both templates and sphinxes made.. I've created over 150 things!
