I am pretty excited to see the upcoming Pokemon stream... I'm super curious what direction they are going in next! I'm guessing something with a western theme... (there been little western notes in many of their recent shorts...)
...and as an aside, I'm WAY WAY WAY enjoying the live action Avatar so far! .... which super begs the question, why can Netflix make amazing live action remakes (Avatar, One Piece etc.) but Disney, with all their resources and great source material, can mess up what should be home runs with just awful, unwatchable ones....

I honestly feel like Disney's just gotten way too comfortable...almost like they rely on their name to do the heavy lifting for them so they don't have to spend more money on making really good works.

I honestly feel like Disney's just gotten way too comfortable...almost like they rely on their name to do the heavy lifting for them so they don't have to spend more money on making really good works. Oh ya, 1000% yes! I think they did the same with the new Star Wars Movies and a lot of Superhero movies as well... just figuring if they stick a beloved name on there people will buy it. I don't believe there is such a thing as "Superhero Fatigue" but there is definitely a "Bad Movie Fatigue". ...and not to be to doomsayer-y, I actually liked the Marvels which everyone trashed so badly... it was actually really fun, and I'd recommend it! (-8 Now to get a bit more work done for Pooka's upcoming special, watch a bit more Avatar and wait for some Shogun, (-8 (Shogun... I'm both nervous and excited about this one! The original mini series is great and surprisingly culturally respectful for such and old miniseries dealing with culture shock and some very awkward times, and I loved the book... but I just like it to much not to watch another interpretation even if I feel it doesn't really need one!)

I have a tendency to think that live action remakes are a bit of a lazy way to capitalize on something amazing that already exists. Not saying that all live action remakes are bad, but unless you can retell the story a new way or do something really original with it, leave the wonderful original alone.
Disney has only had a few good films in recent years in my opinion. Raya and Encanto were both really good. As for their live action remakes, the only one I like is Maleficent and that's because it's just so different while still showing how the original tale came to be. To be fair, I haven't watched all the other live action remakes, but the ones I HAVE seen were terrible.

I quite enjoyed One Piece, and Avatar is so beautifully brought to life it has literally made me tear up with joy. XD But Disney can't make a live action movie right. I consider Malificent to be something different, it isn't even Sleeping Beauty, so I think that's why those movies were good (like you said).
I have to admit, Wish is pretty good. ^_^ I liked Moana as well. I HATED Frozen and never understood why people obsessed over it so much. I just found it annoying, especially that snowman.
On a side note, I'm super obsessed with Hazbin Hotel at the moment. I really, really loved the series and keep re-watching the musical scenes on YouTube over and over (and I'm sure I'm driving Mr. Pooka nuts with it).
