Are those freckles templated too? Oh you noticed those! Yup, they're set to be put on sphinxes. Some of my pre-mades have them. ^_^

While not the most extroverted individual, Idunn was happy to see new visitors arriving especially during the time of celebration. "Wedding? Oh good. Nothing could possibly go wrong at a wedding like getting stuck fighting a harpy for a week... right? ............Right?"

Irielynn checked here worldly collection of instruments and smiled when she arrived back home!Irielynn: I do believe I may be of some help explaining a few things about the beautiful lands of Inisfail! Lets start right off with one simple fact. Nothing is pronounced how it's spelled! Lets start right at the beginning. Inisfail is pronounced "in-ish fawl" and in the local language translates into Island of Destiny!

A note about the woad markings... I've created a series of woad markings that can be put on sphinxes, sort of like a costumes. They're pre-set so Mr. Pooka can put them on easily, although there are custom woad patterns out there as well. ^_^ Here's our staring lineup of woad! sphinxes.smugmug.com/Samples/Events/InisfailIrielynn: You might also have noticed that the Banfennid you've already met was wearing woad. For many warrior classes a selection of woad comes as part of their costume!

Irielynn: ...ah, a Banfennid or Fennid you ask? Specifically these are the most populous class of hunter/warriors in Inisfail! You will find other classes you are familiar with, warriors, barbarians and Sphinxes who live by the blade are all found locally, but the Fennid is a specific class and while some may wander alone many belong to a group of Fennid called a Fianna! Most spend three quarters of the year wandering, hunting, fighting, practising or even working as mercenaries... and they are known to be... a handful, lets say. That's why they tend to split groups up a bit in the winter when they move into larger cites and villages to work as guards or mercenaries or to practice their other skills. Fennid are known to be skillful and resourceful and tend to carry little gear or armour. A good weapon, a valuable torc and fierce woad are all most carry in the wild and into battle! Oh, and for naming, 'Ban' is a feminine note, so Banfennid is literally woman fennid. Some bear the term of Ban while others do not. There were days when the distinction may have been more important but nowadays its one of preference. Much like how in other lands a female cowboy may call herself a cowboy or cowgirl... just a personal choice! --------------- When this class is chosen you have your choice of Celtic sword or spear as well as a standard body and face woad, though the woad is optional and does not need to be added, or you could have just face woad and not body or visa versa ...

While watching dances, listening to bards regal the youth with historic tales, and nibbling on baked goods from the vendors you spy a woman with an interesting hound.
She pauses after noticing your interest.
"Dia dhuit! I see you are admiring my cu (dog) Ceo! His name means 'Mist' in other languages. Perhaps you would be interested in obtaining a wolfhound yourself? If so I have just the test for you."((Give me a moment to set up a game to win a standard coloured wolfhound... ))

"Wait is this one of those places where you spell something like S-i-o-b-h-a-n and somehow you get 'shiv-AWN' from that?" Irielynn: Now you've got it! There is something called ‘lenition’ which is the softening or silencing of letters with the use of a ‘h’. In the name ‘Siobhán’, the ‘b’ is softened by the ‘h’ causing it to be pronounced like ‘shuh-wan’ or ‘shi-vawn’. The ‘v’ sound is the more common pronunciation. So in short, the ‘b’ in siobhán isn’t pronounced due to the ‘h’ beside it! Clear as an Albion spring day!
