(Edited in later because I completely forgot to add this! @.@ ) The Heb~Bastet roleplay guides/moderators are: Myself (PookaWitch), Mr. Pooka, LostDollie, Ariya Eretsee, and JeanStarwind. It should also be mentioned that while myself, LD and AE put our minds together a lot on this, Jean is the huge mastermind of this who really came in with some amazing and exciting plot ideas! There are some typical rules and guide-lines for roleplaying that I forgot to add. First off, this is a storyline/plot-driven roleplay where only the pre-determined people know the plot before hand, and are the only ones who can create/control NPC and plot devices. You can mention NPCs in the background for flavour, but only if it truly makes sense for the moment. ie. ~ "My character stops by a market stall on the way to the park to buy a muffin and gives the cute baker-girl an extra silver piece for a tip.' = good
~ "And as they're all sitting in the park the winged sphinx (who is nobody's character) falls from the sky and says 'I know where the magical items you're looking for are!' = badNo Godmoding (for this RP): Godmoding is basically controlling what another person's character does. Basically leave out how somebody reacts to your character. If it's a situation where it's difficult to do so, there can be an extra note left of how the character will act instead of what they tried to do didn't work. ie. TaRepy rushed down the hall, looking behind her, and accidentally ran into Nefer knocking her over to the ground. She helped her up with apologies. (But... if Nefer can easily get out of the way, TaRepy 'nearly' ran into her, realised that she came close to bumping into somebody and turned around to apologize.)Some roleplays don't even allow things this far, but honestly after learning to roleplay with the classic dice method it gets hard to sometimes roleplay in this manner. ^^; (And this roleplay has no godmodding, but there have been roleplays in the past - with big warnings ahead of time - that the people running the plot may cause some (non lasting) harm or danger to characters... nothing that wouldn't be fixed/healed/resolved before the end of the roleplay. But this roleplay plot shouldn't have any situations that need such methods. ^_^ ) Try to keep your descriptions to a PG rating, no excessive gore/blood, nothing sexual beyond innuendo, etc. I hope that I covered everything. ^_^ (And no worries about the editing of this in people, there has been nothing done that would have really crossed these lines yet... but it's a pre-emptive set of rules - just in case.) (/edit) ~*~ This is an official sphinx roleplay. It's set up on these threads and has a few ways that it happens. Basically to rp in one section of the rp your character cannot be in another section of it. So we may have a few threads set up for different places that your sphinx may go, and if they are in that part of the roleplay they can't be in another one. (So, there could be an rp in a tavern, another in a garden, and another somewhere in the desert, and these are all basically happening simultaneously... so your sphinx shouldn't really be able to be in multiple places at once. ) It's sort of like a roleplayed 'choose your own adventure' in that you can choose what leads/places your character goes to. Some lead further down the trail towards the main storyline/plot, and others lead to dead ends and wild goose chases. We highly recommend playing only one character. If it's needed, or you really feel the urge to play more then one, then after the rp splits into varying locations we would prefer it if you try to keep it to one character per location. (Certain things such as love pairs, if you wish to play both in the same place, can be understood, or parent and child, etc.) This is only to limit the confusion and headaches for people trying to run/guide the roleplay. ^^; Too many characters doing things at once can be truly difficult to keep track of. (ETA - these were afterthoughts ^_^) It would be a good idea that if your sphinx/character is interacting with another sphinx/character to bold their name so that it's easy for other roleplayers to find. ^_^ (Not a hard rule, but a useful suggestion because it would make things easier.) Out of character replies should be kept to parenthesis in the top or bottom of the post with an OCC note. ie. ((OOC: I have to go now for the night, have fun. ^_^ )) ~*~ So much can happen in a year. One year ago the city of Akhet was thrown into shock when news rang out that the Pharoah had left this world for the Duat, a year ago the Queen Nefer vanished, a year ago the remaining Queens started to bicker and plot about which Prince would become the next Pharaoh, a year ago rumours spread that the Pharaoh may have been murdered and that the missing Queen Nefer may have been a victim as well, a year ago even more treasonous rumors spread that the Queen Nefer may have been the murderer. So much can happen within a year. The city of Ahket has been a hotbed of intrigue since the festival last year. Old Queens and consorts of the deceased Pharaoh bicker and fight, since no 'Horus in the Nest' or Royal Heir was claimed before the Pharaoh's death. At the moment the King from the southern states, Gunju, who had already been proclaimed Regent in the case of an emergency has moved up to the city in an attempt to keep peace. It's widely known that he does not wish to be Pharaoh and is only hoping that the next one may be chosen quickly so he can return to his own kingdom, and his many wives. The Queens work hard on the political playing field, trying to turn varying nobles to their cause, and supporting their royal sons, in hopes of making 'their' child the next Pharaoh, and it is said that the Princes themselves are riled up and nearly ready to bring the country to war over their personal conquests and aspirations. It looks as if something isn't done soon, this may be the end of the current Dynasty, or even the great civilization that the Sphinxes have forged... this bickering will make them easy prey for foreign forces to invade and conquer. (RP-wise, there are no sphinxes currently made to represent the Princes. In truth most sphinxes would never have met them, and maybe caught a glance of them at points in the past, riding high on royal litters, speaking to nobody. And it's funny to say that the cat-like sphinxes are riding in their litter boxes. XD ) Just days ago a mysterious flyer has been showing up in varying places around the city. The message has been written on everything from the most expensive of papyrus for it's viewing within the higher-class portions of the city, to painted on broken pottery - a classic poor-sphinxes type of writing medium - in the darker parts of town. The message is always the same. To the Sphinxes of Khemet....
A year of mourning has passed since our beloved Pharaoh Nebtawy passed on to the glorious fields of Yaaru, the heavenly layer of the Duat. Yet within that year the two lands of Khemet have fallen into a state of turmoil where only darker things seem to loom on the horizon.
In this time of darkness I bring to you hope. If you wish to hear more of this gather in the Great Park three days hence, and you will be enlightened.Three days have passed, and many sphinxes of varying classes have started to gather in the Great Park, curious as to what this message of hope could be. (Feel free to have your characters converse within the thread. ^_^ Sphinx bios or links to bios would be a good idea.)

((Her bio isn't horribly fleshed out because I'm lazy...and her son lacks one completely so far for much the same reason (also that he's a bit young yet to have done much)...but here's Mina's bio.)) For the past few days Aramina had been seeing unexpected signs in places that no such thing had ever been before. Only yesterday her dear little Vadim had been attempting to play with one of them that had tumbled from wherever it had been placed to the ground where he could get his clumsy little paws on it. After having rescued the somewhat soggy piece of papyrus from his mouth Mina had finally given in and taken the thing to friend and landlord for a translation. The strange characters they used here still defeated her ability to decipher; reading had never been her strong suit and she'd not devoted much time to learning the local written language. And she'd seen enough of these to deal with Badru's chuckles to find out what the thing said. Having heard the message (which he hadn't even needed to do more than glance at to read, having himself seen the flyers all over the city as well), the gypsy was intrigued. She had largely ignored the political climate for most of her stay here in Khemet, always figuring that she could leave if things got too bad. Mostly she'd just paid enough attention to make sure that the tide had yet to turn against foreigners or traveling folk, but now she had a small cub to care for. He'd not take so kindly to traversing the desert to rejoin her clan. And things were starting to really come to a boil now. After a day spent debating with herself, Mina decided that it could do no harm and might well be quite entertaining to go and see what the fliers were for. From the shadows at first of course. After all, such tempting promises of better things to come could easily be all manner of traps. But, the park was a fine place, and even if the 'enlightenment' proved to be less than promised, she could make a good day of it with her son there. And so, in the cool of the early morning, before the sun began to make the day unbearably hot, she bundled up Vadim in his carry sack, filled the counterweight sack with food and toys for him plus a few heavy stones, and gently settled the contraption over her back. With a tiny nose peering with great interest out of the sack she set off, headed for the part to satisfy her curiosity. So far all seemed quiet in the park. All the better to find a nice shady spot to relax in; one where she'd be able to see or hear where the gathering was taking place. After a bit of thought she settled carefully into a patch of artistically tall grass and dropped into a light doze, waiting patiently to see who else would appear. Every now and then a white tipped paw reached out to bat at the tall grass as Vadim stared around them, fully awake and fascinated.

(The b&w girl.) Bio: sphinxes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=33The garden was so beautiful! Phae'Shalee, a smallish sphinx, and young - just barely considered an adult, padded through the Great Park, stopping to sniff at the blossoms and fragrant trees. Her fur was so dark that it was nearly obsidian, with silvery feathering, and hair so long that it pretty much dragged on the ground. Strangely her hair seemed to coincidentally keep from being any place on the ground that her paws stepped, and never seemed to snag or tangle while pulling along the cobblestones and twigs around her. Her large, liquid eyes had a look of wonderment and curiosity in them, much like somebody who had never seen the fragrant myrrh trees or the centerpiece fountain. Either she didn't have the skills, or didn't care to bother hiding the obvious fact that she was a foreigner to the Sphinx's capital city. Stopping for a moment near the large fountain she sniffed it, then cautiously took a few laps of the water, pausing after a moment to gaze at her own reflection with a rather jovial smile upon her face. Finally she sat down on the cobblestones before the fountain and turned to look at the scenery around her again, happily enthralled with everything she saw.

Profile: sphinxes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=58A year ago he'd had some of the best times in his business in ages, but Dark remembered the reason behind his good hunting well enough. There'd been a lot of confusion over the death of the pharaoh, something that was inevitable really. What was annoying was how long reaching the consequences were. People were all up in arms, the queens and princes were being sheer brats about the whole thing. From the way he'd heard some of the queens were acting you'd think they were trying to make themselves pharaoh. Although someone like him had little contact with such high nobles for obvious reasons, he'd caught a few glimpses and that had been enough. Some of them had looks but they didn't have a brain to share among them from what he'd seen. In fact Dark had all but forgotten the whole incident, aside from the ways in which it benefited him of course, until he saw the notices. The first time he ignored it because it sounded like one of the lower ranks attempting to get together some easy pickings. After seeing them all over the town however he began to get annoyed, and finally intrigued. So after bidding farewell to a few acquaintances whom he was going to be sorry to see leave, Dark headed to the park. Suitably disguised of course since he had no desire to make a spectacle of himself, at least not yet, he padded into the grounds and found a nice patch of shade to lie in. The sun was unbearable as always at this time of day but it wasn't so bad here. One of his wings kept the inevitable stray beams out of his eyes.

BIO: She usually just sticks with Zen and stays away from the more populated areas. She can be stand offish at times and sometimes akward to be around. She takes her job seriously and because of this she can be sometimes clueless about other things. She does have a soft spot for kids but doesn't have a clue on how to act around them and rather just avoid them. You will find that she does not stay in one place to long and she is known to be very curious but will try to hide that side of her. Perched up in a tree sat Fable looking out onto the land while her partner Zen was below her on the ground sleeping. Both resting from traveling all night and and half the day to this new land Khemet. Traveling here was not her intention and she had planned to leave as soon as her energy was back. Yet the more she staid the more she noticed the place was becoming more and more crowded. Scratching her nails on the bark nervously she began to look around before jumping down onto the ground and poking Zen to wake him up. Hissing at Fable for waking him up he turned away from her and fell back asleep. Growling she picked up Zen in her mouth and took flight not noticing another flying sphinxe near by and almost crashed into them. Barely missing what would be a painful collision Fable sighed and quickly flew away from the other before they could say anything. Flying high in the sky Fable got a more clear view of the new place and couldn't deny it wasn't all that bad, or at least this part wasn't all that bad. She couldn't help but to wonder what the other area's of this place looked like and if they was as nice as this one, or are they worse? Shaking her head as if to clear her thoughts she reminded her self she shouldn't be asking those types of questions and need to be more focused on her resting some more and then leaving. She soon came across what looked to be a deserted place and gently landed onto the grassy ground. As she was landing the wind from her wings stirred up some papers and a few where flying aroound her. Putting Zen down who was still amazingly asleep, Fable manage to grabbed one of the papers. Quickly reading what the paper said she tilted her head sideways confused on what the paper all ment. She didn't understand anything about darkness and hope or where this great park was at. As she was reading this Zen had groggily woken up and noticed another sphinxe a little ways off with what looked to be a cub with the sphinxe as well. Looking at Fable and seeing her still reading he silently walked over to the other two until he could clearly see them and mewed happy to find others for a change. Fable hearing Zen mew looked around and panicked when she seen him close to someone else. Quietly getting up Fable began to walk farther away from Zen and the two others until she could barely see them before laying down in the grass. She knew she couldn't just up and leave Zen and would just have to wait for him to come over to her making her growl.

((His bio can be found here.)) A year ago Thaddeus was safe within his company. A year ago he had littler worries. A year ago he didn’t have two cubs taken under his wings, or a female to cause his heart to ache when divided from her. A year ago, he was a soldier in the Spartan army. Thaddeus was careful about who he spoke to in the city. He kept to his broken down abode, or in the shadows of the gardens. Usually. He did take Tariq and Jenya into other places. It wouldn’t have been right to keep them from their culture, even though there was no way he’d be able to teach them their customs. They did well on their own. Tariq was becoming proficient at reading and writing. It seemed like he had picked enough of Khemet up on his own from reading posters, banners, and other distinct signs. Jenya used her athleticism in handy ways, and she was quite the detective. To say the least, there wasn’t a whole lot of parenting done by Thaddeus, at least not in the ways of the Khemetic civilization. Thaddues had been in the gardens when he found a small pot, he didn’t think much about it, other than he needed another vessel for water. He brought it home, but on the way up his lofty set of stairs he dropped it. Thaddues grumbled as he went to pick the pieces up. He would have been flogged for such an offense as a soldier. He sighed wistfully as he thought of home, and then of his company. As he mulled about picking the shattered pot up, he noticed a piece of papyrus. He grasped it with his paw, and questioned as he strained to read the written language. No use. Thaddeus wasn’t particularly smart when he came to reading, or writing for that matter. He didn’t have the concentration enough to deal with such things. Upon taking the flyer to Tariq he received message of the political drama within the city. Unannounced to him, the city was in quite a wreck, and it had been for a year. Thaddues shook it off, and thought nothing of it for a few days. Secretly the debate was eating away at his thoughts. In Sparta, there was such a thing as two kings, but the ‘crowns’ were passed on to their children to fight over. Usually it was a quick fight, and the weaker of the siblings was killed, or there was no need for fighting, and the eldest or more capable would step up and others would back down. It was never usually a topic of discussion for a long period of time, and certainly never took a year. For without two kings, the Spartan army, and thus the civilization would crumble. Thaddues never got involved with any sort of politics back home, but something about this situation intrigued he naive mind. It was dawn when Thaddues awoke. Taking a charred piece of wood, and the papyrus flyer he inscribed what he could for Tariq to read. ’I will be gone. Stay out of trouble.’ He was sure of this statement, even though it was in Greek. Tariq would be able to read it. He then dressed, and headed to the gardens, and the Great Park. There were many Sphinxes when he approached the park. All sorts of colors, sizes, statures, and professions, Thaddues had never seen so many, much less known this vast amount lived within the city. He shrugged, and weaved through the crowd. This was slightly difficult due to his vast size, and even bigger wings. He came to find a clearing towards the center, but off to the side where he planted his haunches and waited for whatever to be revealed.

BioThe note with its promise of enlightenment and hope was a point of contention between the loving pair of Ishtar and Gula. Gula was wary of such promises from unknown sources, after all what could this mysterious hope be? It made her skin crawl this vague promise of better things. But Ishtar ever bright and always looking at the best of things could see no harm in seeing what this promise might be, anything would be better then the tense air of malicious plotting that seemed to hover over the city and that had been there since the death of the Pharaoh. "Gula we have to at least see what this may be, we can't just let this go without a care, this is our home, have we no right to know what is to come about?" "Okay Ishtar we'll go, but I do not think this wise, it gives me pause to think of all the bad things this could be, aren't you the least bit worried this could be some dire change we should be no part of?" "Why would someone go to such effort to ensure everyone knows of this meeting if it were so bad love? That'd be silly." Gula just shook her head and sighed, she should have known better then to ask Ishtar to see the negative side of something, the innocent dear was incapable of thinking of the less the bright side of anything. Ishtar was grinning from ear to ear as they made their way to the gardens, her voice bubbling with excitement, "Gula just think, even if what you say is true, when is the last time you and I just spent a day in the gardens? Oh I wonder if we might see some new plant for you to study, oh! or maybe we'll meet that vendor who makes those honeyed cakes we both like so much..." Gula was trying not to smile at her mate's antics but how could you not smile at someone who was so free and happy, "Ishtar calm down we'll be there soon enough, you are practically bouncing along my love." "But Gula it's a day of beauty and wonder, and there's a promise of hope in the air, even if it may turn false how can you not be feeling this boundless energy of change?" As they stepped into the garden, they both spied the stranger by the fountain, her long hair and warm inviting smile made them both pause a moment, they'd never seen anyone quite like this before. Ishtar wasted no more thought and approached the stranger. "Blessings of the day to you, isn't this a wonderful morning? Everything feels so ... revitalized, yes revitalized. I hope you're finding our city welcoming." Gula coughed softly trying to suppress a laugh at her mate, Ishtar was not yet pulling out the charm but she'd start on that soon enough if she wasn't stopped by something as simple as a proper greeting to a stranger, "I am Gula and this is my mate Ishtar, we're sorry to intrude on you so suddenly."

A brief bio can be found hereShobek stared at the pottery shard in his paw. He'd seen many like it on his rounds of the city. The message they all contained was interesting, to say the least. Shobek wasn't much for enlightenment, but he was curious what the cryptic message meant. And it was true that the circumstances were - strained, to say the least. The political scene was in turmoil, and with no end in sight. Oh yes, he was curious. But something held him back from going. In the end, of course, he did go. How could he not? Curiosity killed the cat, and all that. The possibility of an end to this madness was impossible to resist. He could always leave if things didn't look promising. Shobek padded into the Great Park erect and confident, proud but not arrogant. He looked around at those already gathered, to see if there was anyone he knew or might talk to as he made his way to the center of the crowd. When he got there, he found himself seated near another soldier, a Greek sphinx armed and armored with a spear and shield instead of a sword. Shobek gave him a sharp nod of respect, almost a salute.

Bio: smsadopties.weebly.com/seger.htmlIt was some splendid time in the day, when one particular magician lay around, sleeping lazily in the sun. Seger had her wings tucked up nicely against her body, enjoying the feeling of familiar warm brass and metal against her fur. Her longer-than-need-be bangs carefully covered her dual colored eyes in a sheet of black hair. Occasionally, her eyes would flicker, indicating some bizarre dreams running amuck inside her head. A slight pang shot through her throat and chest, awaking the girl in a sudden jolt. "Ugggggh," Seger groaned, floundering back down on her belly. She was hungry. Again. Of centuries trying to learn the loopholes to her blood-needy side, she never quite managed a way around it. She didn't like hunting, but she certainly wasn't going to let herself starve because her food had feelings about death. ---- Tucking the last bit of food into a little pouch around her hips, Seger began to the process of cleaning her teeth. When a thinly parchment piece caught her attention. Plastered on the walls was a notice, about a meeting. And while she learned language at a break-neck speed, her abilities to read were mediocre. Deciding it was worth some excitement to check out, the magician girl disposed of the dead body on the side walk. 'Poor thing,' she thought, 'one would hardly miss you. So I guess it was alright.'Walking to the Great Park was always refreshing, Seger thought brightly. She was still cleaning her teeth from her last meal, and had taken most of her adornment gear off along the way until she was just down in her pretty corset and goggles. It was precaution reasons, since the Great Park contained too many robbers for her liking. Upon arrival, she spied a gathering of Sphinxes from all walks of life. She didn't like crowds, not really. They made her uncomfortable. So in the magician's favor, she let the scent of her meal linger, yet she pulled over a cover of genuine friendliness. Seger waited on her side, folding her wings neatly across her back as she surveyed the gathering slowly.

Bio: sphinxes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=53Mireya sighed wearily as she walked casually yet gracefully towards the crowd ahead. She never usually stopped robbing tombs, that was her job of course, however she did also have a firm believe that you should venture out of the dark to mingle with society once in a while. It also helped to know what was going on around you, to avoid any scrapes that could have been prevented. Besides, Mireya figured she'd have to have been living under a rock to not have noticed the message that was always the same, all over the city. It said to go to this very park, this very day, and Mireya could see many Sphinxes already here, and guessed that many more would be coming, wanting to hear some kind of message of hope after all the terrible things that had been going on. Mireya had no interest what so ever in the royal family, or anything really that was going on up there. It reminded her of her family, and how they had practically forced her into a life of being a courtier, until she rebelled and became a tomb robber, much to their dismay. But still, she guessed that she should know about something like this. Whenever royalty and power was involved, there was bound to many squabbles and arguments, and with that came danger. Pointless really, but still reason to know about it. Mireya narrowed her eyes as she scanned the crowd. The first sphinx that really stood out to her was a Greek soldier. He really looked respectable, brave and handsome. If only, Mireya thought, all sphinxes were like that, and not like the lazy so-and-so's she encountered far too often. She wished she could speak with him, but she was too shy to speak to such a majestic looking sphinx, and wondered what he would think of her. Mireya started walking more into the crowd and looked around, looking for someone to talk to whilst she waited for this mysterious message of hope.

Bio: sphinxes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=profiles&thread=27&page=1#73The wind blows odly today, Eraiya noticed as she fixed her collar around her neck. Glancing out of the window she looked at the workers trying their hardest to get the inn open and ready as soon as possible. A sigh escaped her right before the door went open on its own. Slowly she glanced back, before smiling calmly and oddly twitching her ears about. "So ... that's it .. is it?" She spoke calmly in a secretive manner. Taking a final glance in the mirror she decided she was ready to go and calmly stepped out, greeting the inn's crew before padding down to Akhet. The wind twirled heavely around Eraiya's paws, and one of the flyers just landed perfectly infront of her paws. Almost stepping on it she halted, and looked down at it. A small smile apearing back on her lips she shook her head calmly. "Alright alright" She glanced upwards "I get your point" Taking a pause, she finaly then settled down to head of for the great park. Huming softly and greeting the familier merchants on the way, she decided to sit down somewhere nice and calm. Whatever free spot she could find as it seemed to be getting a little crowdy there. Watching the other sphinxes faces, Eraiya couldnt help but smile warmly. This looked like it would be a great day indeed.

Not long after he arrived, another new arrival caught dark's eye. The soldiers outfit was strange enough to accomplish that, but despite the oddities he wasn't bad looking either. One eyebrow raised for a moment as he considered going to speak to the greek soldier, but common sense kicked in ahead of his hormones and reminded him that such types did not generally take well to assassins.
Better perhaps to wait a bit and see just how much this one liked his job. It would be supremely irritating to have to leave before he found out what was happening here. Not to mention the tragic loss it would be to have to kill someone like that before he even got to know the guy.
The arrival of a second soldier sent a mild sense of alertness through his system but it wasn't particularly concerning just yet. This one had no wings and seemed a lower ranked fellow. Certainly there was no threat there unless the guy brounght a great number of friends.
But then here was a scent that could not fail to draw his attention. Vampires were not unheard of in this place like they were in many parts of the world, but it never failed to capture his attention when he met one. This one happened to be a beautiful female with the scent of blood sport on her too, which only added to her appeal.
Suddenly the soldiers seemed rther dull. Pulling himself to his feet he had a good stretch first from nose to tail and wing tips. It not only made him feel better but tended to draw a few looks which he quite enjoyed. Then he padded over to Seger and sat beside her.
"Good hunting this morning?" He asked, chuckling slightly. "You know you might scare a lot of these people letting evidence linger that way."

Brief bio: sphinxes.weebly.com/sheshet.htmlSheshet slipped through the growing crowd, trying to find an unobtrusive place to perch. She was full of nerves. If her mistress found out she were here, there was no telling what Min-kalet would do to her. Perhaps even have her tossed into the dungeon, the same way the courtier tossed around her many fine dresses. Life in the palace had certainly been interesting since she had taken up the job of maidservant. She heard a lot of political talk, and always kept her ears sharp for more. Her mistress seemed blithely unaware of the whole situation, except for her complaints about her mother trying to make her the next pharoah's wife. But the news of this meeting today had rushed through the servents quarters in hushed tones, and Sheshet smelled opportunity... enough to risk her mistress's displeasure. Sheshet wasn't sure what was going on her today, but her heart beat in excitement at the possibilities. Perhaps this day would mark the beginning of an important future for her. Finding an open bench under a shady tree, Sheshet settled herself into place, and began to curiously peer around at whom else was here. She spotted some very foreign sphinxes in the park, including a greek soldier and a black female that seemed to nearly drown in her silver hair. Other important sphinxes could be identified from the clothes they wore. Suddenly Sheshet felt very out of place, being a mere peasant amongst this crowd. Her nerved clawed at her insides, but she sat steadfast, and hoped there would be a place for her here today after all.

((bio))Mais quickly dips her jug in the water. Looking around she can't help but notice, more and more are gathering in the Great Park every day. It's all that is talked about. Messages, flyers everywhere. It would be nice to be able to read them herself, instead of listening to just gossip about it. Sighing, she lifts the dripping jug and hugs it close. Her Master had little patience these days and she tried not to be the brunt of her anger. She would keep herself busy and hopefully out of harms way. Bending low she whispers to her pet mongoose, 'Come Pabi. Stay close. What's that you have? Ah, one of those flyers. Here let me hang on to it. Now let's get moving, you're on snake patrol! It's a good thing you're the best snake killer the Master has seen ... so far.'

Avery slipped out of the shadowed ally and into the Great Park, eyes squinted against the sun. Sighing in frustration at the bright day, Avery quickly and quietly made her way through the throng of sphinxes gathered in the park to a cool, shaded area. Leaping up on a large, flat rock, Avery relaxed onto the warm surface. While she loved the warmth of a bright, sunny day, the sun itself was harsh against her pale coloring and albino eyes. It made it difficult to see and caused very painful burns if she stayed out in it to long. Looking around, she noticed Dark...chatting up another female. Avery rolled her eyes at her "master's" flirting, imaging the talk he was giving the other sphinx. Disgusted she looked around and noted the strange assortment of sphinxes gathered in the area.
