Pricking her ears around Eraiya slowly laid her eyes on a white with pink coated girl. Slight concern passed her eyes a moment before she slowly put her gaze back forward. Surely the atmosphere here was unsual with such different characters around. With a swift back and forth glance she peeked at the fangs of 3 ... less usual crowd around. Making a mental note of that she smiled calmly seeing a greek among the crowd. Ah wings and the air of greek lore. Faint memories passed her mind as she shifted into a dreamy gazed look, before wildly shook back awake by a strong tug of the wind. Looking only slightly displeased she seemed to agree and took another swift glance at Sheshet, she maintained to concern Eraiya and she decided with herself to try and keep an eye on that one.

Profile: sphinxes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=profiles&thread=73&page=1#1044Ankhu turned the message over in his head as he reread the papyrus. Today was the third day since he'd seen it, and he could no longer deny the sense that something was going on that he should be a part of. He entered the Great Park, and soon spotted the gathering crowd. Ankhu seated himself comfortably, pulled out his scribe's kit and waited to see what would happen.

Seger ruffled her wings, a little wary at the oncoming male. He looked like a normal Sphinx, albeit if you considered an assassin as a regular day commodity. He might have seen friendly....ish, but who knew? At least she was hard to kill. Or at least she hoped so, in the case he became well, unfriendly.
Smirking, Seger raised her eyebrows. Well hey, didn't he look great stretching out. Perhaps she should get to know him one day or another. Like she could get to know the Greek Soldier, or anyone else with wings. The generally were of more interesting origins, but sadly were never a constant.
"I suppose so. Prey tend to be slow on the reaction side, but at least it isn't messy." She smiled a little, unsure whether to chuckle as well. Seger bristled a little at the rest of Dark's sentence though. "True, but I got a little too hungry. My food wasn't really interesting, so what is one to do on such a short notice to be here? As for scaring people...." She gave a quick flash of fangs.

Gradually at first, then more and more swiftly the Great Park began to fill up. Mina remained in her patch of grass, stunted wings flickering uncertainly. Vadim mewed in protest every time her wing flickered over to cover his carry bag and block his view of the surroundings. Every time he protested Mina's wings momentarily settled against her sides to quiet him, but the stillness never lasted long. Her ears twitched back and forth, listening to the conversations around her. Mostly idle chatter; whatever they had all come to hear had yet to start.
Tail twitching with impatience Mina began to shift restlessly. It had been so long since she'd felt the need to watch the situation so closely before heading out to mingle and chat. Her curiosity was beginning to get the better of her caution as more and more exotic Sphinxes appeared. Also some very handsome faces. A shame they mostly belonged to law keepers and killers; not exactly her type.
Before she could decide to get up or stay there longer Vadim let out a sudden happy squeak and began to wriggle madly. He was growing up Mina noticed briefly through the sudden surge of fear; he was mobile enough to worm his way out of the pouch and flop down to the ground, heading after a fox colored cat he had noticed nearby. "Ki-ey," he squeaked happily.
"Shh-shh darlink, iss somevun's pet. No touchink," Mina hissed softly, reaching out to gather him back in. This proved to be a mistake as the young cub wailed and reached for Zen. "Ki-ey, Ki-ey Ki-ey, Ki-ey KI-EY!" Mina winced; so much for remaining unnoticed until she'd had a chance to evaluate those providing this 'enlightenment'.

As Fable was waiting for Zen to stop being nosy about the other sphinx she began to notice many others arriving. Her claws began to dig into the grass as she became more and more wary with everyone gathering to this spot. She could easily smell the fresh sent of blood and snorted knowing a fellow vampire was among them. Smelling the fresh blood made her hungry and caused her stomach to growl loudly. Other then somewhat blushing she just ignored her hunger and stretched her wings.
Fable noticed a dark looking male walk up to the other vampire and narrowed her eyes wondering if he was a vampire as well but soon shrugged the idea off, as it was not her concern. Sighing she quietly stood up and walked over to a tree that was a little ways from her before flying onto one of the high branches.
As she sat on the branch with her head held high, she felt herself relax since she felt safer up in trees and she could also get a better view of what was all going on.
As Fable settled in she herd a wail of what sounded like kitty and groaned as she knew it had to be Zen causing the commotion. Zen meanwhile was very excited and mewed loudly back at the cub happily. Zen got closer to the cub and its mother wanting a better look at the cub.

"When you're in a rush the slow kind is the best kind. I find it tends to be rather boring however." Dark answered with a smirk. "Personally I think the hunt itself is the one of the best parts of the chase."
Glancing around at the company he spotted Avery. To her he sent a smile which quickly devolved into a smirk as his eyes flicked to his current interest. The young female knew him better than most who still breathed, but he wasn't quite sure if she was amused or annoyed with him just now.
"You enjoy scaring others then?" Dark guessed as he turned back to Seger. "Me too." He smirked, his own elongated canines barely visible. "I just don't like relying on my teeth to do it."

Keeping one paw firmly on her squirming, struggling, unhappy son Mina leaned down to examine the cat. It looked happy, well fed, interested...and this was the time of the celebration of the goddess of cats here in this land. To reject the approach of this one might be an insult to their goddess. And while Mina didn't exactly worship any of the local gods and goddesses she was well aware that it was best not to offend any while in their lands. With a sigh she lifted her paw slightly, cautioning Vadim gently. "Very vell zhen, but beink careful vith zhe kitty. No grappink, remember zhat you are not likink your tail or vhiskers tveaked, so kitty is not eizer."
With a happy gurgle Vadim wobbled his way closer, nose stretched out as he babbled baby talk at Zen. As small as the cub was yet, he was still larger than the cat, though he greatly resembled an overgrown kitten himself. As he tottered his way closer Mina rose to her feet, short wings fanning out protectively as she followed. Every now and then she looked up to make sure no outraged owner was heading for them, but for the most part she kept her eyes fixed firmly on her son.

Thaddeus sat straight with his head held high. It was still odd to him that he was able to see over most every head in the district, considering that back home he was one of the smaller, leaner soldiers. It was like he’d hit a growth spurt, or everyone around him had shrunk.
His thoughtful golden eyes scanned the area. No sign of anyone he knew. Not like that was drastically different than any other time he’d decided to come out into the public scene. This time however it did feel like a lot of eyes were on him. What? Did they expect him to step in and intervene in this situation? He certainly was no king, and never planned to be. Plus if the commotion in Khemet escaladed all the way to Greece, and he was found in the middle of the mess… Well that could only foretell trouble.
Thaddues was not accustomed to other Egyptians in such close vicinities to him. So it did make him a little uneasy when a wildly colored Sphinx sat next to him. The slight nod did settle the uneasiness, however. It was good to have interaction with another soldier. At least he looked to be a soldier. As to if he had the same training, or ideals as Thaddeus, he couldn’t be sure of. Though he seemed respectable enough, and Thaddues returned the salute, subtly.
He lifted his eyes from the soldier just in time to notice a bright blue female with her eyes fixated on him. She seemed intrigued, but it wasn’t Thad’s place to approach a female. No matter what the circumstances be.

( Bio, but I need to work on it more.) The young adult female gently strode into the Great Park, her pale eyes examining all that she could see. And... what she could see! The variety and amounts of gorgeous other citizens and denizens of Khemet is amazing! Being a lowly baker, she had just decided to take today off after seeing the mysterious message that had been floating around. She had been warned by many customers about it, and had seen it several times herself. Several winged Sphinxes, many upper classmen and women, many peasants who she might and might not recognized... it almost seems like all of the city had come to heed the warning! Kind of wide eyed, she also saw plenty of opportunities. Perhaps today she could raise her own place? Or maybe be able to earn more? A small satchel hung from her lanky frame, a satchel she had traded well to earn, and from it emitted the glorious scent of her recently baked goods. She thought they might be needed.. Trying to find anyone she might recognize as a customer or anything, she tries to linger around the grand fountain as the crowd all waited..

"It is, but not when I'm particularly blood-thirsty and cynical." Seger paused a moment, furrowing her eyebrows. "Well no, now that you mention it. There is a certain thrill to being hunter," she admitted. Much to her slight unease. There was power to being feared, but she didn't spend all of her energy on it. There just was not all the time in the day for that kind of thinking.
Flexing, Seger eased onto her haunches. She worked her wings out into a lazy drape around her legs.
"It's the only way I get things done. At least I don't need to carry around large swords for intimidation." And with that Seger chuckled at Dark's little display. "You know, I've heard of you. They did not mention a few things but..." trailing off, the magician waved her paw. And end to that subject.
"This gathering is slow coming. I'm beginning to think the writer of that notice has died." She snorted, shaking her head.

There are Stray Cats in the Park/Thread.
((OOC: *facepalm* I forgot to give a time of day, didn't I? Gah! It does make sense for sphinxes to be here early in the day though, waiting for whatever is about to happen. And I forgot to give a way for the vampires to be here during the day. It's simple enough though, Khemet is rich with magic and I'm sure that there are more then enough ways for it, from magical items they have, to potions the used/bought, to sun blocking spells cast upon their bodies... super sunblock spells! lol ))
The youthful face of the dark furred female brightened. She already had a rather happy and jovial aura about her, but when the two colourful females approached her grin grew larger. "Oh hi." her voice was melodious and lilting with a very happy tone. She looked around quickly for a moment, her lavender eyes darting before looking back. "Is it that obvious, that I'm a stranger?" she pawed the ground in front of her for a moment, flicking a small pebble "I thought that I was blending fairly well." she looked at Ishtar again, her smile spreading again. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Phae'Shalee.. but some people just call me Phae. And you're both so colourful! I still can't believe how colourful so many of the.. um.. sphinxes are." She sat up straighter, then as a second thought stood, unsure if it was rude to sit while the female speaking to her was standing.

"You blend in just fine Phae'Shalee, we just have not seen a Sphinx possessed of such fine hair before." Gula said softly, "Isn't that right Ishtar?"
Gula frowned when her mate did not respond and turned to find the other female had wandered off without saying anything, "Oh Ishtar... I am sorry Phae'Shalee she's so flighty sometimes."
Meanwhile Ishtar had caught the scent of her most favored thing in all the world, aside from Gula, the scent of honey! That luscious, lustrous liquid of sweetness that made everything better. She must find it.
Ishtar followed the slightly illusive scent, it was shrouded by other sweet smells, her tail twitching in anticipation of finding its source. She followed her nose right to the bag settled over the shoulders of a marbled black and gray female who was graced with the most interesting silver eyes, almost like mirrors.
"Oh ... But aren't you a most beauteous one, and the divine scent of honey wafts most deliciously from the bag upon your fair shoulders. Might I inquire what it is that smells so wonderful?" Her own silvery eyes gazed longingly at the bag before she forced herself to look at the female she was speaking to, "Though you smell as divine as a baker on your own."

Mireya turned back to look at the Greek sphinx. He seemed to have noticed her, but didn't appear to have any intentions of approaching her. Mireya decided she was going to have to do this for herself. She slowly wondered through the crowd to reach his side. "Travelled far?" She asked, trying to seem casual and not scare him off. Her eyes were not in him but straight ahead of her at the other sphinxes in the area. She guessed he would be annoyed if yet another pair of eyes were on him. She would have been surprised if he didn't get it all the time. He certainly seemed to stand out in a crowd.

Sheshet was getting antsy. She'd been sitting quietly for a while, but nothing was happening. The myriad of colors around her made her feel a little dizzy, and she was tired of looking at all the other sphinxes and feeling lowly. At one point, she had even caught a strange red and white fox-like sphinx looking at her. Sheshet had looked away quickly, uncomfortable with attention from such a strange looking person.
Her mind returned to her former musings. She deserved to have more than this life as a peasant, she knew it. Her mother had taught her such every day until she had died. She was smart, and she was beautiful. She knew how to use her skills. She would make something of herself, she swore it.
But for now, she was getting bored. Bored and anxious together was making her head hurt. Looking around for any sort of distraction, her ears suddenly perked as she heard the word "honey" waft accross the space between her and the fountain. Looking, she spied a mottled red and white female who looked to be approaching some sort of vendor. Suddenly Sheshet remembered she had skipped breakfast to rush through her chores to be here to the park in time.
Well. This was an easy remedy. Sheshet had to admit her fool of a mistress was generous with her gifts, and that included coins. Decision made, Sheshet hopped down from her bench and walked toward the pair. As she got closer, she could smell the rich, sweet scent of pastries, and her pace hastened.
She stopped respectfully behind the red and white female (Ishtar), and waited for a turn to approach the mottled grey vendor (Fuyna), glad to have something to occupy herself with during the wait.

Eraiya smiled as she noticed the white and pink coated lady made her way over to what seemed to be a baker. The scent made her seem one atleast. She flicked her tail to the other side calmly and lay down in the gras. She seemed to be at peace with the current goings around her. A sweet smile on her face as she noticed the bold action of a girl aproaching the tall greek soldier. "oh I hope that will not break any hearts" she whispered to herself with a slight concerned glance, putting her ears down a little to highten the expression on her face.
When the wind blew past her infront of her nose she looked towards an odd sight by the fountain. What an interesting sight. She surely did seem to be not from around here. Eraiya watched the long silver haired maiden interested a while. Making her conclusions about her and seem to be rather pleased. She considered aproaching, but seeing as she already had company she returned to her single minded interest for the things happening around her.
To her, the simpelest things where the most interesting.
