I had to go shopping and it was aggravating. I only needed a small resupply, but it was all out on the resupply. I did manage to find milk and butter thank the gods. But that was because the store ahd just gotten delivery. They ran out of TP in about 2 hours again after the full restock even with limits imposed

I'm sorry Phoenix. It's been going on all through out my state as well. Even in my city. Which is odd since we've not had confirmed cases here yet. Or at least as far as I've seen in the news.
I admit here that I avoid news in general unless I am looking for something. Then I go to three or four trusted places to read about it. Because as I've mentioned MANY times before the media has been ... insane.
That said, our governer just called for 'social' state-wide stay at home orders. Meaning only essential businesses stay open, social distancing even more (no groupings of over 10 people) and that's through part of April. It could be extended.
So, I'm sad to say things aren't getting 'better' after this first week. BUT it's halfway there. Hopefully, things settle and even out. For you, for others, for everyone. Apparently there is talk about closing the schools through til Summer. O.O
I need to go text my mom.

Sang may or may not be on for a few days. We were just told a close friend of his who was a doctor in Italy has passed away due to this. So it may be a bit before he comes on

Italy is getting hit really hard by this. I don't understand why...they've been under lockdown and this 'flu' didn't originate there. My relatives are fine as of yesterday but the sheer amount of deaths and the age ranges really scares me.
Now. The 'party goers' dancing on the beach in Florida. The people that are in the mall standing like herded cattle in line to get their animal crossing game at eb games (theres a picture. Same mall mom works at. 99% of the stores are shut down, including hers). I just...I don't have words.
Mind most are practicing social distancing but these updates are really scaring me.

I'm temporarily out of work and Retta is having to work from home 4 days a week. Trying to limit going out as much as possible and avoiding contact. My parents are way too high risk for me to risk bringing it in with me. I'm picking up two weeks worth of groceries for them tomorrow, and it was difficult to get what they needed. Hopefully they won't have to make any changes to my order when I go to pick it up. We're going to try to do delivery and curb side pick up as much as possible in our area, and we're not buying anything we don't need in case there's someone out there that does need it. My niece yesterday helped a lady from her Facebook mommies group find diapers for her daughter.
As for soap, my older sister makes her own, so that shouldn't be a problem for us as long as I have some handy that Retta can use. The whole family suffers from topical allergies, and hers are probably the worst.
Meanwhile, we're having movie marathons and trying to find ways to pass the time. Luckily, we're pretty much hermits anyway, so it's not a big deal for us. We literally only go to work and then down to the parents', pick up medicine or groceries for them, and go home.

Found out today that a concert I was really excited to go to in June...two days after my birthday....was cancelled. Now I'm just hoping that Jimmy Buffett, Celtic Fling, Folk Fest and Renn Faire still happen. If those get cancelled...then I have no summer. Yes I know, it's because it's for safety reasons and I have no control, but I just feel empty without those little events. Especially since I've been going to Folk Fest for 35 years as of this year, Renn Faire for 21 years as of this year, Celtic Fling for about 19 years....I just really look forward to those escapes.

I knew this was going to happen, but not this soon. Apparently my brother ( who is autistic ) had a huge fit today ( because he can't go to his day program or go out to most of the places he likes to go all because of this shutdown ) and busted the tv in his apartment, the cops and emts had to be called and my mom had to deal with it , not a great day

Looks like we're settling in for at least a couple of months up here which seems like what most of North America is planning (or will catch up and start planning soon enough)...
I got a large electric skillet for Pooka because she loves making pancakes and we had them three days in a row, (-8 ...and the reason I mention, off topic seeming, is that we're going to use it to make griddles cheese sometime in the next few days! It should be nice and fancy to be able to make all of them at once instead of a couple at a time in the pan, (-8 (it's a Heritage Rock griddle I got at Canadian tire which I'd totally recommend to anyone looking for one!)
roleplaying, movies and Heb prep for us! I have been interested in trying to grow microgreens and have recently watches a bunch of instruction videos... They seem like a great option for a fun project at home, especially for us Canadians (we've still got several feet of snow, no outdoor gardening in my near future), to keep some healthy greens on the menu without having to go the store that may or may not have anything good anyways over the coming months. I do love making sprouts though which are another cool option if anyone wants some tips or instructions. I've made lentil, mung bean and a few mixed seed types like mustard and fenugreek. Healthy and yummy, (-8
No great suggestions from me, sorry! I do love the idea of incorporating some of the game pieces into the book though! ...feels like a sort of play it by ear thing following the theme of the games themselves... While I haven't made any yet, I do have a pile of boardgames on the block ready for re-purposing, (-8 and of course I'd totally love to see some pics of what you come up with, I loved seeing your earlier work! (-8
things are fairly similar here in Ontario, just technical diffs... though today in Ontario they added a legal fines ($1K for individuals and $500K for businesses) who don't properly adhere to the social distancing rules. Works for me! I keep thinking of the dystopian aspects myself but also realize I can still go to the grocery store and order takeout and use the internet... then I unwind a little and think of it as a kind of cushy dystopia, (-8
From what I gather in the news the main reason it is hitting so badly there is the lack of any sort of proper medical infrastructure for this kind of thing... just simply not being prepared and having no way to get the stuff they need, especially ventilators. Even the best prepared areas, medically speaking, had the extra problem of huge numbers of people heading to these areas before the different parts of the country enacted their quarantines (like if your area didn't have decent hospitals you'd quickly race to another city and 'get stuck there' as a hedge against the coming sickness). We'll have more sick people here in Canada, by the numbers, but will be much better prepared as the gov is funding any factory who switches production to needed medical supplies and already hospitals in hot spots are getting filled with what we'll need... (If I had any critique of the Can Gov it would be that doing this a month ago should have been on the table and it would seem less like a race to the photo-finish.)
as stupid as it is evil. I can't believe this stuff either, it's so mind boggling idiotic... kind of like a few celebrities like Evangeline Lilly who plays a super hero but is truly an insane villain in real life with her "I value me freedom to do what I want over everyone else's lives" nonsense...
I really picture the people who organized those beach events to be like the mayor from Jaws. (what there is a deadly shark (or virus!) in the in the water going to kill everyone? we'll lose to much money if we close, lets just pretend nothing bad is going to happen... *rubs hands together and dreams of piles of money* I don't care if everyone dies next week because this week I've got their money. no refunds!)
There seems to be lots of good pickup/drop off business expanding and popping up to help all over which is nice to hear. Our town also has a volunteer group who is specifically doing no contact groceries for the elderly for free which is always great to hear!
I've always wanted to make my own soap! ...we're similar around here with allergies and sensitiveness, but luckily were all set for good long time. Being there are very few options for me to buy with soaps (hand, bar and laundry) I pick it up in bulk whenever the right ones go on sale so we've got lots for now.
We're kind of the same, especially in the winter.. except for more frequent milk runs this isn't' to diff than usual for us, (-8 ...and I've been loving all the movies dropping early! We saw the Invisible Man last night which was good, finally saw the Rise of Skywalker and I'm looking forward to Onward and BOP/Harley Quinn!
hopefully you'll get some reschedules or alt venues Angel! ..like a live online sort of thing... not the same but better then nothing?
that sounds super rough scorpio. I hope things work out and he finds some peace in all this madness... Idk how things like this work in the states, but up here I worked with younger kids with similar diagnosis helping them get along in school... something that I'd expect would be insanely expensive but was covered by our healthcare system. Idk if you guys have access to programs like this?
and as usual, I've got everyone on my mind and am sending out my best wishes and thoughts! I feel like its just rough for everyone, no matter what way you look at it... its rough to have to go to work when you don't want to and its rough to not be able to go to work when you want to... It does make me thankful for communities like this and the moral support we can lend!

The staff at EB Games really complained because they didn't want to be there so as of yesterday they shut down, thank goodness. My friends hubby works there so im worried about him (and mad at the stupid 'business as usual when everything else is shutting down around you' thing.)
Michaels is still open but is doing curbside pickup. Pass. I need to actually go in and see stuff with my own eyes to determine if its what I need. And im soo NOT going anywhere unless its needed..like med pickup.
I should try to poke my cousin. Her sister and kid went on vacation last week and supposedly came back...yesterday? Im mad at her (they begged her not to go but 'cheap vaca!' and 'I have gloves and masks') but im also curious and concerned.
Moms got a sinus infection and dad and I are getting non-viral episodes. Im a bit annoyed I cant get my bloodwork taken (the req is at the center and I was supposed to go in march butits 'non essential') and im just monitoring the episodes. They managed to get a thermometer and they are fine for now.
Im going a bit stir crazy. Im crazy anxious and worried but I want to do things like garden or draw and something internal is holding me back. Physical things like episodes for gardening and a mental block plus fear of my wrist going for drawing..then I get overwhelmed when I think of all the things I have to do and cant.
mm..what else? Yeah. gov't I believe is sending the next relief wave soon?

Luckily we have a dog so we take him for his walks which helps us a lot. Biggest change is my mom now works from home so we have to be very very quiet for a long amount of time now. I should practice my digital drawing more as that is a goal. Blocking out art time, gaming time and so forth.

roleplay, art, roleplay, art, cook, read, movie, roleplay, read, sleep, repeat! (-8 I've been enjoying cooking a lot, here's yesterday's lunch... It'll still be a while before I see my yard... I've got a tablet I need to learn and practice myself... Which reminds me of a positive video about self isolating from an astronaut... and some more good advice from someone experienced in self isolating...

So some good news! Someone's dog got loose and we found the owner fast. She was almost in tears. Dog is very well taken care of. Recently groomed and turns out to be 13 but looks and acts like a much much younger dog.
