Our close core is doing well. Sang will be back online next week, He took all of this week and some of the previous to simply mourn, but he is finally able to talk about Leo again without tearing up so he takes it as a good sign to finally get things in motion.

This is going to be rough since some of us will be affected, either through friends and family connections or our own losses. I usually try to be an optimist online (I'm more a pessimist in general offline, Mr. Pooka is the optimist), but it's hard to be jovial when there is so much suffering. I'm so sorry to hear about losses, and I offer my condolences. Hopefully things turn around and they find a cure, or at least a way to contain this pandemic.

I'm sure they will. SAng and I work like you and Mr. Pooka. He is the pessimist and I'm the optimist, so I think it makes a good pairing. Then at least there is always a balance in life.
For some good news from last year. If people recall young Bran (originally name Saitou until he decided he disliked the name) has grown up a great deal. He is now as big as Sang's dog, Patches! Patches is a Jack mix

I also have to admit that I do get kind of flustered, tongue(type?)-tied and am totally not good with words when it comes to condolences... I never feel like I know what to do or say. I am reading everyone's stories, it's why I started this thread in the first place, but I promise that even if I don't/can't respond with words I'm sending out my best thoughts and feelings. ...if I showed up to a funeral I'd bring some home made food, give a solid hug and a look that conveys my heartfelt feelings then sit quietly and mourn... something that doesn't translate well into type.
hopefully I'm better at adding some joy and optimism...
Here's the video Cameron posted I think? (something with the link wasn't working for everyone)
...and a few days ago, I added a cookie link in our preHeb thread to some awesome emergency pantry cookies and the celebrity chefs are just now catching up to me. These cookies are one of favs.
...and today I'm making bread and then some 'bread-dogs', I'll have to take some pics to share. Making bread is fun, easy, very affordable and now's a great time to learn if you've never made it before!

Welp.
My brother decided to enlist me in a 'little' project.
He decided to get a bunch of gardening things to grow veggies indoors to outdoors with some 10 gallon bags that can be moved around (we have a garden but no room for veggies).
I kind of o.@ and told him we had to start the seeds in a little greenhouse starter thing...you cant just put seeds in the 10 gal bag and call it done. Not all of the seeds will survive either. So...we will see.

bit of an update here while still physically well, my family is a bit shaken today ( well, me and my parents are ) my autistic brother had yet another meltdown and broke a door at his apartment. It really shook my mom up and knowing my dad he's probably pretty shaken up too. Before this stupid virus my brother's meltdowns were less frequent ( though they still happened ) and now because of all this its like he's having at least one a week ' sighs '

That sounds like a super fun and very well timed project MA! I've just been watching a few programs on this very topic, (-8 If you don't think the boys are the patient type and want to see some quick results I've also been watching lots of programs on fast microgreens, like this one... (there's lots though with different styles and types though.)... ------------------- ...and that's super rough scorpio. This is a stressful time for everyone and things must be so hard for your brother. Besides the doom and gloom of just the news, tv, and canceled everything it's hard for for everyone to keep optimistic and positive around those that could benefit the most from some stability. I'm not sure what sort of programs you guys have available but there seems to be some free help online like here.. www.autism-society.org/about-the-autism-society/contact-us/There is a helpline to call as well as some resource pages, including a Covid19 resource page with lots of lists, suggestions and guides to help people with autism get through these tough times. I could'nt vouch for them personally but the site does seem very helpful! ------------------------- ...and it's all quiet here. I think the worry and stress is sort of coming and going in waves but we've got lots of fun things and projects to keep our minds busy atm. While we are really super stocked up (just from my shopping habits before all of this happened) I am low on a few things like margarine... I have lots of cooking oils as well as two jars of duck fat, three large jars of goose fat and my 'surprise' mix duck/bacon fat jar (as well as two bricks of lard for making pies) tucked in the fridge so I'm good for most neutral and savory baking, but margarine just is good for toast and sweeter baking. ...and now you have to start wondering if you'd risk going to the store to get something that I probably don't need anyway... I've still got lots of stuff for baking though, (-8 Here's our some yummy fresh bread and some 'bread dogs', made with my duck and goose fat, (-8 (I mean everyone has jars of goose fat in the fridge, right?) I hope everyone else is doing well! I'm truly nervous for our southern neighbors... Keep us updated with the good and the bad and the anything you want or need to talk about!

I just came back from the bank.
Im not amused. The amount of cars out and about is as if nothing is happening. The bank though only had a few people with a security guard opening the door for us. There were 6m stickers on the floor and tape showing distance from tellers. I was soo paranoid that I kept on using my pocketback every 30ish seconds ._.
Changed out of my clothing the second I got home.
Also noticed hands getting stripped of moisture..I need to try to use lotion more often....

Security guards are the new norm everywhere it seems... Many of the big grocery stores in the North almost look post apocalyptic from the outside. Walls have been build using carts and tape to keep everyone in lines with guards enforcing appropriate physical distancing. ...and I must say I LOVE that they have security there to keep everyone in line! I think having the tape/markers is also great... some people just need the hard reminders. I'll be heading out for the first time in... over three weeks now tomorrow, to try and stock up a bit. Because of my own shopping habits we're mostly set for at least another 6 months, but there are a few things we could use to just be a more comfortable. ...but with a very limited selection of stores up here I think tomorrow is going to be an adventure trying to find stuff and I might have to go to several different towns to find the stuff we need. In Canada we're being warned that this is going to last until a least June/July and it won't hurt to be stocked up, especially as the world goes a bit crazier and crazier. We had police at our local grocery store last week and I hope they are sticking around permanently. Some people were going just plain nuts there, like breaking glass windows because they had to stand in line and throwing stuff at cashiers. ...I'm not looking forward to going out I tell you! (and then a couple of hours sanitizing all of the groceries, showering and washing cloths...) ------------------------------------------------------- In brighter news there is an ever increasing amount of fun free media that keeps being released to the world while everyone is stuck inside! Here's two of my favorites today... they are extra great for 'kids' but really I'm gonna play on the HP site a bit myself, (-8 Audible books has opened up a large library of children's audio books (including the first Harry Potter book) for free. stories.audible.com/discoveryand the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has... well their quote sells it better than I could, "We’re casting a Banishing Charm on boredom!" They've added a bunch of quizzes, puzzles, crafts and things to keep everyone locked down entertained, (-8 www.wizardingworld.com/collections/harry-potter-at-home...and I LOVE these goats! Im noticing mt levels and habits kind of getting more acute?
Like, I cant fall asleep without ambient noise now and even then ill still physically feel sick. Im paranoid about almost everything and I feel like im the one that has to keep everyone at home level headed (the snap point of a few has been...well. Lets just say said people turn into enraged snorlaxes meets banshee in less then a blink of an eye over something trivial like milk of all things) ..being the level headed one is hard because it takes a toll on my own mental state. Im finding my zen moment when im in the backyard doing my little patrol over the garden and what is growing...but then get deflated knowing that I cant actually garden because the city is not taking yard waste and the yard waste bin is already filled to the brim with leaves.
I know I have to try..but I have no idea where im going ot put everything ._.
on a more positive note the crocuses (or..whats left of them...damn squirrels eating my bulbs!) are in bloom. I want to take pictures but between the chaos in the house and such, I haven't had a chance.
umm....other then that, ive been trying to draw but my wrist and part of my elbow is really hurting me..so that's going slowly. Oh...my brother (who is a front line worker so is forced to work) is asking me to make cloth masks. I told him I don't know how effective those will be to protect him but I gave him some handkerchiefs and shawls in the meantime.
Ah...and wedding stuff: still in limbo (looks like noone will be in the office until the 8th) but I got an email today with the company update on how they are dealing and evolving. I have a good inkling anything into june and july is going to be postponed which means mine will more then likely be, too. I wish I knew!

melodysangel , I've been concerned about your wedding and feel so badly for you that it may be postponed. That must really suck after all of the prepping and planning. Hubby is venturing out into the craziness that is grocery shopping right now. Only recently there was news of people going wild in the local store, smashing windows and throwing things at the cashiers! And this is a small town!! He's going to check the local stores and if it looks like too much to deal with, or he can't get everything on the list, he's going to check out another store in the next town over, a 1 1/2 hour drive from here. Also, there is a case of corvid in our town now. >.< Like hubby said before, this is a small town that is mostly retirement, so there are a lot of elderly around here. This could get really bad. I call my mom every other day to make sure that she's okay. I bet she's just happy that I call more often then I usually do. XD

If it was safer, id totally go and do some essential shopping and mail it out to ya. Its like you get the heebeegeebies when you are forced to go to the store! (Or that can just be me).
Mmkay..that is scary. Please don't say its a nursing home. That is where many of the Ontario cases are getting hammered and it really worries me. Plus side? They are saying you don't need to wipe down things like boxes since the virus doesn't seem to cling onto those kinds of surfaces.
I..yeah. If I was freaking out before this blew in, its on a different level now. I kind of half joked to my sister (who is in Barrie) while on the phone the other day. Seems like im a magnet for things. If its (something negative or embarrassing) going to happen, it will. Story of my life. Im always the one that 'draws the short end of the stick'.
Well, I cant do anything until I get an update. Its getting into my subconscious and dreams.
I feel bad for anyone with events in April.
