*sighs* Well my former neighbor just blew out my night. She texted me with 'Happy Birthday' and then said that she liked the cake I made. I had posted a picture of it on my facebook page. Then all of a sudden she sent the message of 'it's a shame you didn't have anyone to celebrate with. I'm sure your Mom would have loved the cake you made. It's a shame she left so soon'. Wow....thanks a lot >.> She then hit me with 'it's a shame you don't know anyone up there or don't have any friends in that area and you don't get out much'. Excuse me?! No, I may not know anyone up in this area with the exception of my downstairs neighbors, but I DO have a couple of people that I DO know thanks to the agility club Mom and I once belonged to. There are a couple of them not too far. As for getting out much....well excuse me for not having a car let alone my license or permit!! If my Mom had been a little more supportive when I had my permit and helped get me out a little more, then maybe I'd have my license and a car. As it is, I do get out for bike rides, but I'm not the sort of person to simply go out to a club and party. I'm not the sort to go out to a bar or go across the street to the restaurant and sit at the bar. No, I haven't been out too much recently because of the heat. As for my Mom...yes, I do miss her, yes I do wish she was here still and healthy and able to continue doing what she had loved to do, but what's done is done. I can't bring her back. I kept my comments civil in my replies to her, but inside...I'm fuming! I just...I can't believe my former neighbor would do that. That hurt so much u_u

I am sorry that person made those comments to you. I don't know them but I would HOPE it was completely thoughtlessly/without malice. Doesn't make it any better, I know.
But you are right; you don't have to be the kind of person to go out clubbing to be 'out and about'. Your mom would want you doing what makes you happy and I'm sure she's watching over you and cheering you on everyday. Even more so than she did while she was with you here. <3

*hugs back* I've known her for 21 years, since the day Mom and I had moved into the house back in 2003. She's a really nice woman, always nice to chat with and such, always loved our dogs and was always appreciative if we did something to help her out...like I'd shovel her sidewalk, walkway and driveway during the winter if she hadn't gotten to it or her son hadn't gotten to it or I'd mow her front yard if she hadn't gotten to it. Yet there are times when she would say something that would come out the wrong way. Normally we look passed it or brush it off. Something like this though? That just...hurt. I know she means well and some times she'll send a text to see how I'm doing since I moved, but some times she'll say something that tweaks me a little bit. It's like I wonder if she thinks about the comment first before she sends it.

well..... I'm kinda glad i did not get a custom slot this time. Things come in 3s and today has been a day of breakages.
1st I got woken up by going through my bed. yhep through. Its a wooden bed with a metal internal frame and wooden slats. well the metal has warped over the years and this moring the metal bar pulled away from the frame and the slats went through and i got thrown on the floor. Plus side it was only 20 mins before i had to get up and i landed on plushies and my blanket.
Sadly looking at it we now have to buy a new bed frame XP (sleeping on the couch for me for the next week)
2nd I managed to cut my finger putting my hand into my pocket as my phone case split and the sharp backing plastic splintered. Thankfully, the phone inside was fine but it was a custom case that was not even a year old.
and 3rd. i now have a dead bar on my computer screen.
I turned it on after work and got things sorted turned back and went "that's weird did i leave a box open on the screen?" nope a horizontal bar about 3 pixels wide across the whole screen.
about 2 inches from the bottom so it's noticeable.
And because of the heat 2 of my pin badge tiles fell off the wall and one pin broke.... so i guess four things.
I now have to work out what kinda bed i want to get. might go for old reliable and get a box bed. or just say screw it and put the mattress on the floor

Unfortunately we made the decision to move my grandfather into hospice care last night. He's old at 94, but despite that it feels so sudden. Just in the middle of April the man was still living mostly alone (with a lot of help from us yes, but no one had to be living with him constantly), walking around, caring for himself. When we took him to the hospital the first time at the start of all of this, he literally walked himself into the hospital. Ever since it has just been a spiral downward in a vicious circle for him  |

Minkey55 - that's awful. But maybe the brightside is that a new bed frame will help you sleep better?? In the long run I mean. <3 I do hope the broken things stops now though. wolfrysk - So sorry to hear that you and your family are going through that. All our best wishes for you.

A little bit of good news. My screen is "ok" The bar is still an issue on my computer but its intermittent. I think the heat just got to it and the line is dying slowly. but its still good.
My wonderful sister, after laughing her ass off at me, turned up at my house with her tool kit and some stripped-down boards and repaired my bed.
We are still getting a new one but it will last another month or 2 so we can look for a better one rather than something quick.

Unfortunately my grandfather passed away last night. I’m very sad, but also very grateful that he had 94 years here on this earth and I had him so close for my entire life. |

Well, gonna say I really hope this is a poop sandwich situation and not a "comes in threes". My sister called me to tell me our niece was out boating with her husband last night to watch the fireworks. Another boat crashed into them and he was thrown from the boat and drowned. I'm not really even sure how to go about processing that one |:
