It's kind of like Star Wars... If it's part of a beloved franchise I'm almost always gonna give a new show/movie a shot even if there are so many more misses than hits these days. I've only skipped one Star Wars show and it wasn't because it was Star Wars but an actor I can't watch...
So, I'll def give any LotR a shot! I hope the find their stride and can build something awesome. They've got a great framework and foundation to start! Ooo, Pooka and I are gonna watch the Hobbit Movies again soon... They were just sort of OK to me and honestly I can't remember most of it, but we will be starting a dwarf based RP soon so thought it would be fun to rewatch while we prep for it, (-8 Maybe a second time around will give me some new appreciation or insight, (-8
...ang super genre switch, but Star Trek Strange New Worlds should be starting up again in the foreseeable future, and Lower Decks is currently on and still always perfect, (-8 I love both of these ones!

Yeah, I like the Hobbit films but not for the story. The writing was very mediocre in my opinion. But I like them for everything else. I love the casting, the character development, the scenery, the music, etc. The first film was definitely the best of the three.
Edit: I've watched a heavily edited version of the trilogy that makes it truer to the books, and it was so interesting to see it and realize the choices that were made based on the medium being used. For instance, in the edited version, you simply don't get enough time with the dwarves to really care about them, which is rather true to the book but makes for a rather lack luster film.

I'm 100% on this boat too. If I have loved the series/franchise, I will always give new content a try (which in the case of Marvel and Star Wars, to be met with more disappointment than enjoyment). Star Trek you know is one of my absolute loves. I'm really excited for SNW to return, and really sad about LD ending. I'm not sure what to make of the Academy show and I... the other show they announced I don't even remember what it was, but it honestly sounded really stupid.... I'll still watch it though.

Oh, it hurts my soul a bit knowing I'll have to live without more Lower Decks in the future... it is just soooooooo good! The comedy always gets me, the deep cut lore is such a treat and all the characters are impossibly loveable!
and I'm thinking the same about Academy... I just don't know, but... I will always give it a shot, (-8 I also though the trailer for Section 31 kind of looked bonkers (and I'm in for bonkers) but also kind of like a super bad B movie with equivalent effects... but again, I'm in for trying, (-8
Ooo, I should also try to sell you on Prodigy again, lol! I think the first bit was pretty... idk what, but I had trouble getting into it. ...but it really really picks up half way through the first season and I devoured the second season happily!
I also watch all the Marvel stuff, (-8 ....but I can't remember the last one I enjoyed... maybe She Hulk or Moonknight?

Oh ya, the trailer for Star Wars Skeleton Crew looks pretty cool! (though curiously... it's got the same basic plot as Star Trek Prodigy...)

I actually did finish Prodigy. I enjoyed the second season more than the first. I know it is geared for kids and the "main cast" are all children, but the whiny kid thing does grate on me. I also don't like Murph, but what can ya do. I'm excited for Section 31, but that's mostly because I love Michelle Yeoh. I finally found the one I was talking about - the one I think legitimately sounds like it will be stupid - Untitled live-action comedy series During the San Diego Comic-Con 2024 Star Trek Universe panel, another new series was announced. Currently, Justin Simien (Dear White People) and Tawny Newsome are developing a live-action comedy series set in the Star Trek universe. According to the few details we've learned so far, the series will follow "Federation Outsiders serving a gleaming resort planet [who] find out their day-to-day exploits are being broadcast to the entire quadrant." We'll have to wait and see whether or not this intriguing and unique Franchise project makes it to the screen in the years to come.

I thought I would share this video for those with Svartalfheim drow.
It's done by Ed Greenwood who is the creator of Forgotten Realms. Basically everything on the list but the snakes, since those are sacred in Svartalfheim. *nods* Have fun with your future drow House dinner parties. ^_^
(I thought this was poignant enough for the Sphinx world that it's in general instead of web links.)

Super pretty MA! I love those christmas cactus flowers, they're so elaborate and pretty (-8 ...I might pick up another colour if I see any nice ones this year.
I'm actually kind of excited about that comedy one Wolfrysk! I mean it can def go wrong, but it does have some of the Lower Decks people working on it so that is a huge bonus for me and reason enough to be hopeful, (-8
and who doesn't love crispy crickets and carrion crawler larva! not just for the drow, (-8
..and super random... I bought some liquid soap at the dollar store again and went with Autumn Forest. I like those woodsy fall scents. ...but when I used it, it was coconut scented, not what I expected. Now, I guess everywhere has a fall woods technically, so maybe I was geographically biased!? oh well, tropical fall for me, (-8

We figured out what we're doing for Sphinx Yule last night. <3 Once I've completed the few things I'm doing (a makeover, a few customs, a CP I owe) then I'll get started on it. I'm going to need to have it ready early so I can't dally. ^_^

I've added Pooka's custom slots to the last Custom request thread here! sphinxes.proboards.com/thread/1098/custom-slots-heb-bastet-2024?page=1&scrollTo=141869There are a limited number or regular slots and a (mostly/probably) unlimited number of Ghost slots available. Instructions can be found there, but basically the normal slots will be handed out by lottery and you can PM Mr. Pooka to request a spot. you can also PM Mr. Pooka with any number of Ghost/Ka Spirit slot requests, done at a flat price of $15. Jobs, hair and pets have all been added to the usual threads and new stuff is all priced in a post in the link above, (-8 If I missed anything you want or are interested in, please ask me! If there's any questions, just PM (if it's secret!) or ask in the thread!

*keeps talking about Star Wars long after everyone wanders away*
I was just talking about good/bad shows/films and we hit on a surprisingly fun one that could easily slip under the radar. Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy! I found this one so very fun and funny and very delightful! I don't want to drop spoilers, but it's got some hints of a 'what if' story with some very fun lore and excellent in jokes, (-8 (and many original actors doing their own voices!) ...it's also very short, like 4 episodes so it's a quick watch, but I highly recommend it especially if you need some fun Star Wars, (-8
