..so this RP area has been up for a long time and never quite got going... and I want to change that! I don't usually like to go ahead with things that are not quite complete but I think there is some great stuff to get started with.
The rules we're using are an art prompt system that is intended to provide inspiration for creativity... a way to jump into your characters and explore their lives through whatever medium you would like or feel comfortable with (or don't feel comfortable with, its also a good way to push yourself in other artistic was as well!).
You will also notice that I mentioned prizes in the initial rule section and if there is enough interest in the RP prompt system then I'll set up a more appropriate prize section as well. I've been planning to use this as an alternate method for players win interesting prizes, gain various character upgrades, grow children/teens and much more... That being said, most RP systems like this out there in the mists of the internet don't really have prizes that rely on a third person to fulfil so there might be some hiccups still trying to figure out the best way to go about this. The types of systems that this is based on usually have prize/awards that are build in with RP awards. For example if it was a magical type prompt RP the character who did her first 5 steps would have access to more spells or a familiar or be allowed to enter another trail of RP prompts etc. ...So, I'll be looking for a bit of feedback as we go along but I've got two direction to go in (the might just cross over) which is to develop a simpler prize method or perhaps to just work on some cooler RP bonuses!
I'm going to post a bunch of the prompt lists and if anyone has any questions about what exactly is going on here just ask, (-8 ...also some of the prompt lists are not yet complete but being I'm just hammering ahead with some unpolished work lets just see what comes of this!

..I've put up a few of the prompt lists in the other forums (just the ones I have on this computer, there are many more on my laptop of creativity, (-8) to get some first looks out there. Besides different class, faction, age and RP prompts I also have some specific event promts that would only be open for specific durations. For example when we do specific events (think of past Heb~Bastet events such as faction wars, demon invasions etc. or Yule events like when the fairy entourage camped outside of town...) These event prompts would are designed to award prizes of different sorts (unique titles and/or stamps, first access to new stuff or other rewards based on what the events themselves...

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me and also if anyone has any requests for a category just ask away and I'll see what I can do! I have tons of list started for various factions/groups/jobs etc. and if anyone wants/needs something specific to jump in I'd love to write up some prompts or finish the ones I've got started! I'll get to them all eventually but at the moment I'm mostly just writing in the direction of my creativity, (-8

I'm in a writing funk too, but prompts for swashbucklers, musicians, or dancers....you know....the three classes I have, those could help me a little. Although, I am positive you are just waiting to type them up until you have time, considering the number of those classes we have and the way your mind works  |

Pooka had a great point! XD So, what I was trying to say about the mediums was maybe having options as 'rewards' for abilities their medium will gain/possess after each rank up? Meaning, a higher ranked 'medium' can either be more proficient in their specific talents or have lesser/more talents applied to them; earned through applying themselves in these stories.. It wouldn't mean having more 'things' made as rewards but more like.. RP buffs/bonuses. I dunno. It's late and I'm not so eloquent/organized. Ideas: Psychic AbilitiesTypes of Spiritual Mediumship |

physicians ~ ooo, that might be a trixy one I think... but I feel the ideas beginning...
swashbucklers, musicians, or dancers ~ all sound fun and I have the beginnings of some already... lets see what I can do!
I've been thinking a lot about this topic! This is how many RPs around the internet already work and I would love to come up with ideas/systems to provide character advancement. Where I originally got stuck was that we've always wanted to be as open to players ideas/concepts/backgrounds/powers and such as we could to encourage roleplaying and I still need to find a balance that doesn't limit others creativity. One option I've been contemplating is to have a 'sort of official' set of RP rules so we could provide appropriate advancement/benefits for everyone who participated. perhaps both might work in parallel as well... my brain keeps going in three directions, (-8

I knew that I needed to duck out of the way of the Mr. Pooka brainstorm explosion....lol You always have so much going on up there, both you and Pooka, and so many of the staff and followers, sometimes I find it hard to keep up. I'm sure giving it the old college try though. My dungeon days are far behind, but my love of the RP isn't, so I'm working on fleshing out my characters more and pulling in some that I had from then might help.

OH.. I had.. a different type of question. I know part of the ranking system is submitting artwork we make that depicts these events, however, I am not so skilled with drawing. If I wanted to commission out to someone a picture to go along with my submission (example: I'm in an RP or writing a story response as my rank up submission), would we be allowed to include it in the posting of that submission? Not to be used in determining quality or taking credit for the work.. just.. personal.. enhancement? I dunno. I just love commissioning pieces of artwork of my characters and if I'm particularly inclined or inspired I try to get pieces that are related to canon/storyline/rps.

I still roleplay with Pooka all the time, (-8 ... but with these prompts I hope it lets players with different schedules (from work, life, inspiration blocks... whatever) to have a change to delve into their own characters at a pace that is comfortable to them... and hopefully the prompts can generate some sparks to everyone's imagination!
Yes absolutely! Using commissioned pictures to enhance your stories/RP posts etc. is totally cool and would be lovely!
...also, I know its not exactly what you were asking, but I'll add that this is a chance for everyone to delve into their characters with whatever medium they are comfortable with (or want to practice!) and using almost anything extra at your disposal is great stuff and a little can go a long way! (describe your character making an elaborate dinner for a date with another sphinx and perhaps add a photo of something you made that you also described? that's cool stuff and just adds that extra something super! Draw a lovely picture/series of pics to illustrate a step but just need... something? perhaps just a small written note, or a quote or a poem or an explanation of something that you couldn't make clear through drawing... anything extra is just extra good, (-8)
besides just being fun to do I'm hoping that entries will be something to be proud of and that everyone can look back at later and just be happy with! I'm going to jump in and try some writing myself this weekend and see what comes of it... I have a few characters that just need some extra life!

oh yes! I also want to make sure that no one is afraid to try this stuff out! I know that we list quality as something that is important to these posts and I don't want anyone to think that I'm just gonna jump all over you and say your post is no good or not up to quality! That will never happen! (-8 Its kind of scary to jump in when no one else has yet and put your stuff out there, (-8 as we go there will be lots of opportunities to get feedback from us and others as well. perhaps we need some sort of brainstorming thread for players who get stuck and need some inspiration or a change to ask/talk about teaming up for an entry...
just have fun!
oh yes, and I made a few changes to the rules section to make some things easier to understand and more clear, (-8
