I have a terror of spiders. I didn't used to be and even once had a pet tarantula. Then one day a prank was pulled that led to me now being terrified of spiders.

Peter Wyetta slithered up and smiled, though it was a little scary seeing the Djet smile. She paused to ponder what her greatest fear was.
"I think my greatest fear would be to loose my connection with my magic." she moved her paws and watched the sparkles
dance happily. "it's a part of me and i would not know what to do without it."

Tootles Thalia lands gently down just outside of the circle of people gathering.
Her Mistress, Wyetta, was talking to a teen about fears or something. She was paid to be a bodyguard, not a chaperone.
A movement to one side and sees a small brown child looking up at her and her mask.
"Were you not told staring at people is rude," Thalia said removing her mask showing the child she was just a normal sphinx under her mask.
She'd often keep it on to keep people away but she had a feeling it would only scare the child.
Placing the mask with her bow beside her she watched the child's eyes follow the mask.
"I see you like my mask." The child nodded looking up at her with wide eyes.
"I gained it in a right of passage to being an Amazon." seeing the child's eyebrows rise she smiled softly. She reminded her of the girls that gathered waiting to listen to the elders. What harm would telling her the story do.
"If you wish to become an Amazon you must first prove you are no longer an infant.
We journey into the wilds with only our basic equipment and our skills.
We'll find a nice place to set up our base camp and then go exploring in the forests looking for food and firewood."
Thinking back on her own journey with her amazon carer. She was never sure who her mother was, but they were all taken care of.
"Learning about the plants and animals in the area and how things can heal you or hurt you.
finding the hidden treasures the the deep forest can hold.
On my journey i found a lagoon with a waterfall and found pink pearl shells that went into my mask.
One of my sister found some moon opals and another some fire rubies. You never know what you can find on your journey.
And as the night falls we would count the stars and name the constellations. It's always a great adventure."

Jousts, tourneys, and feasts at magnificent castles as I show off my prowess. When we aren't at events we will be traveling Akhet and beyond, camping mostly, but a Knight never stays in one place for long. We must actively seek out glory and adventure. Do you think you're up for it? A daughter of mine must learn how to become a noble Knight and there's no better way than questing with yours truly."

Peter "I only fear being caught," Nat says with bravado. He glances over his shoulder, "Well maybe I might have a small fear of..." he looks around nervously and whispers, "Have you seen those big steam engines that just pulled up here? They are big and noisy and seem pretty jittery. One of those sky people tried to get me to ride one and I said 'No thank you, you're not getting my paws off the nice firm sand of Akhet.' Now I swear I'm not scared of heights, I'll scale a building with the best of them, but those machines just make me nervous. I wish they would leave."

Peter "My biggest fear is forgetting everything. I have problems with my memory, and I cannot always remember who I am married to or how to get home. I fear one day I will wake up and not know who I am at all or who I serve or how to get to the temple. It is a very frightening thought. However, my husbands... I am pretty sure there is more than one... do their best to help me, and they are all kind. So, I would like to offer you a chance to have the support of a family as well, one that will help you as you help us in return.  Elektra appears from seeming out of nowhere and settles down giving a friendly smile to the cub. " One day, it was a day somewhat like today, during one of these big festivals that all the sphinxes have. I was following a group of other sphinxes because I'd heard about relics and treasure, and what girl doesn't like shiny things? Anyways, I was hoping for something interesting and boy did I get it! instead of just wandering into a tomb or something, we all stepped through this weird blue portal and found ourselves in another time and place! There was dust everywhere and all the sphinxes there were dressed weird and talked weird too. They had these weird things there they called guns that looked really spooky but kind of interesting. There was a musician who played what he called a piano, and two djets shot at each other with those gun things. We eventually did find the relic the strangers were looking for though and then went home, but I'll never forget that place "
