Jewel and her mate had been waiting anxiously near the temple of Taweret to see what happened to the lost cubs. They'd taken turns, of course, since Creamy was a Royal Guard and had his duties at the palace, while Jewel the herbalist couldn't neglect her patients. Still, one of them was there every day, waiting and hoping.
The day the cubs chose their new families, Jewel happened to be taking her turn, and she watched with bated breath as the little rainbow-colored cub whispered something to his hippo guardian. She gave him a hug that made Jewel wince, but apparently left the cub uninjured, because the next thing she knew, those rainbow paws were wrapped around her own neck and she was hugging him back just as fiercely. She didn't let go until he started squirming.
When she finally put him down, she asked, "All right, little one, if you're going to live with me and your new papa, we'd better know what to call you. Do you remember what your mother called you before she had to leave you behind?"
The cub scrunched his forehead and thought really, really hard. At last he looked up at her and said, "I think maybe... Kashti?"
Jewel smiled. "That's a pretty name. Is that what you'd like us to call you too, or would you rather have a different name?"
"No, I want to be called Kashti," the cub - Kashti - said emphatically.
"All right, then, Kashti. Let's go introduce you to your new home and your new papa, shall we?" And with that, Jewel led the way home, her new son following behind.

Oh wow!! Congrats everyone!! And I am JUST noticing this now...but Tootles has shark fins on her front legs....cool!
Aurnia glances down to Tootles and grins, placing a paw on the young one's shoulder. "We'll start in the mornin' little one. Also gonna think of a good name for ya as well." With gentle guidance she begins to lead her adopted daughter off, but then pauses and glances back towards Khamerernebty. Turning, she removes her hat and bows. "I thank you for allowing me to adopt this little one. I swear by the seas I'll take good care of 'er." Replacing hat upon head, she turns and leads little Tootles off to her ship.
Now to think of a name for her XD

Oh my! I nearly forgot about this, thanks for the tag Toxi! Congrats everyone! I'm so excited to take Nibs home, I just need to figure out a new name for him
