Tootles Msamaki clears his throat. "Well, little one, I may not be rich, but I make a good life with what I do. Enough to take you on a wonderful adventure to a magical place called Atlantis. It is very hard to find, but we can see it all around in the sea. The people there are beautiful to behold and so is the city itself. Everything is white, the color comes from all the coral and kelp and even the people themselves!" He smiles. "You would love it there, little one, and I would be very happy to take you there one day if you would like to come home with me. Above all though, I wish for you to be happy and safe and know you are loved."

Name was Elaeyis and she was a dancer. Beautiful dancer at that 'nd she had the eye of many fair folk about town. She had the eye of one man in particular who wanted her for his own, but she didn't love him you see. She was... a free spirit that didn't want to be tied down to any one person - except you. I remember when you were born how much she loved and adored you. She never wanted to be parted from you. This man though... he found out about you and he was very jealous, he was not a good person and would have hurt you and your ma because he felt like he had been slighted in favor of another male. So, to keep you safe and to keep herself safe, your ma left you with miss Khamerernebty here. She claimed she was just a simple woman and couldn't keep you, but let me tell you, your ma was as good as a princess to those who enjoy the art of dance." "She was so broken when she had to leave... but she does want to return to you. For now she spends her time at sea exploring distant lands... looking for a place where you can be safe. I think one day she will return to you - she still loves you so much. As a friend who was close to her though, I would offer ta take care of you myself. Show you your way in life'n give you the attention you can't get living in a group like this... and I promise you more stories always of your ma. I'll tell you a story of her every night until she comes home to you. What do you say?" He smiles and leans down to nuzzle the young cub.

Firstly, I wanted to apologize to everyone in our community for not concluding this after it closed last May.
The only reasoning was my life took a turn (not all bad just a turn) that resulted in me going under my own little rock to try to adjust.
That said, I've gone through everything and have found the winners for the 'enticement' entries and then I will roll the random winners from the other three 'randomized' entries in succession.
I will do the randomization in separate posts because the main rule was anyone who entered could enter for (at max) the four of the five orphans but you could only take one home. So this is the most fair I could make it.
Again, Thank you all for your patience, for your interest, and I hope some are very happy with the results! Now, I will be typing up the posts and awarding babs. <3

WINNERS -- PART 1 Enticement Entries ======================================== Tootles -- Seeking a First Adventure  After hearing out all the various (and very different looking) adults, the youngest of Khamerer's charges made her choice. Her little chin tipped up and her eyes alighted upon the lovely adult who offered a castle of wonder with giants, laughter to entice ships and something called a beach! Her little paws brought her up to the pirate captain in question and in her cherubic voice asks, "So when do we heave-to and start our adventure?" Punctuating it with a slight mischievous smirk and innocent blink. ((The winner is Angel_of_Music and she's happy to be adopted by EF2818 Aurnia))
========================================Slightly -- Fading Memories  Slightly was eager to hear from just about anyone anything that might trigger his fading memories of his mother to sit and stay. Of the adults who offered help, not very many seemed to have any ideas who she was or why she gave him up. Some did try to cheer him up and he left those conversations feeling a little better. But there was one who really seemed to understand him. He looked up to Khamerer and pointed out the person he wanted to go home with. Whispering to her. The large femme smiled widely and gathered him into a hippo-crushing hug before placing him back down and padding his behind to encourage him to go to what he wished. Saying, "May Tawaret and the other gods bless your path young one.. go make your new family." He'd smile back at his temporary mother and then ran into the arms of the one waiting for him now. ((The winner is springacres and he's happy to be adopted by EF1439 Jewel)) ========================================Peter -- Fear of the Unkown  Peter sat with back straight and tried not to laugh as so many adults came forward. Some had fears he found funny, some he truly sympathized with. (That chicken was truly a horror. Who gave the animators of this land PERMISSION to bring it back!? Yeesh.) But ultimately he felt the biggest ... connection with one who shares his hidden fear. They found the crack in his armor and he knew he was needed there more than with his little band of orphans. He gave hugs to each of the younger cubs, bucked them up, gave them words of encouragement but most importantly he promised he'd always be there for them. His connections re-affirmed he turned and walked up to the female who shared his fears and said, "You won't be alone anymore.. You are needed. I promise." ((The winner is Moophles and he's happy to be adopted by EF2418 Selima)) |
