Adoptables are what kept me on PI in the beginning. At this point I have a small handful of ponies that I carry an emotional attachment to, but it seems like every time anything changes on PI I get less and less enthused about staying. The attitude in that thread doesn't help either. I can't help but look though, like it's a slow motion train wreck lol. |

I am in the process of getting to work on an adoptable myself. <smiles> The lines are very very pretty. It will just be a while before the files are received. So I am patiently waiting.
I like PonyIsland for the ponies but mostly for the adoptables. I am getting to like them more and more. I love PonyIsland. It is sad that people are upset over things.

Like most of y'all, I'm mainly on PI for the adoptables (Into the Woods, Aelia, Myxi, Solstice, Canids, and of course Sphinxes are my main addictions) Occasionally I gen / breed ponies or participate in extravaganzas, but not very often. I currently have 10 accounts I pay for yearly (that's what 230usd a year), and if most or all of those adoptables left... I probably wouldn't quit, but I would allow all but one or two of my accounts to expire. I have some memorial and character ponies that would tear me apart if I allowed them to die.
And this reminds me that I need to find Pooka on DA.

I follow like three adoptables. LOL. That's all. Sphinxes, ITW, and Siana. I tried getting into the Solstice, but I'm having a hard time there. I follow Samanayrs too, but I follow them on their own site more than PI.
I have an account on Secundi where the Kennel and such went to, but Garney disappeared a while back and all of those adoptables are inactive. There just isn't enough to keep me there either. I pop in once every six months or so. That's all.
And like all of you, adoptables are pretty much the only reason I still have accounts on PI.
EDIT: Retta's account should expire in like 5 days and there's no warning anywhere.

pookawitchthere ya go! I'm also personally sorry about this... even with all the stuff they have done over the years I've never been so upset with PI as I am right now. I'm usualy sooooo happy! Promise! Its a shame they did not take off. I was really rooting for them to succeed! (of course it was formed out of the last mess on PI that made me mad, years ago...) Unfortunatly this falls into what I said earlier about adoptables seeming to need a host site that is not just forums to maintain excitment and activity for everyone... (still just theorising but I spend a stupid amount of time thinking about adoptables!) when i first logged on all of my subs had time added to them... then a couple of hours they were all expired. also... Pooka assures me that it is probably in bad form (but I still like the idea, (-8)... but I told her I wanted to give Pony Island bad feedback in the PIFF forums over many of the things I feel ripped off about! Prob won't, but the thought highly entertains me!

.... Secundi is still very much active, just a number of the original adoptables are currently inactive. There are a number of other active adoptables, and the community is pretty small, but also very open to various adoptables. There are a lot of new ones that are RP based, but without a lot of background and such, so they haven't taken off spectacularly, but not poorly either.
Everyone is pretty laid back as well >.>
I am an admin there, and one of the 'founding' members; just don't really mention it since PI had such an issue with 'other site' discussions...
Edit: I also have 3 expired sub accounts... and now I will have to go resub to the Samanayrs mailing list with a different account, as my sam account is one of the expired ones >.<

The only reason I'm remaining on PI is ITW and now Sphinxes. I'm not sure if just ITW will be able to keep me on PI should Sphinxes also be available on FR. I'm also having the issue that new PI and FR chewed through about 2GB already - and I only get 7GB a month o.O so I can only have one.... Decisions decisions.

and Solstice even though it's newer (but so much looove). Much, much agreement there. I'm already addicted to them, they're so pretty and the RP set up on the forums is just amazingly detailed and rich.  That means so much to us, thank you guys <3 We won't be moving off PI. I honestly love it there. I love my ponies, my breeding and maxing challenges and the wonderful friends I've made. I'm sad to see you guys are considering leaving though. I'd be happy to pay for an account or two, if it means you will stick around. |
