I just wanted to make a post here about some of the things I've been talking about on PI in the discussion section.

99% of the time I'm a pretty fun guy. I like to laugh, I like to entertain and it is with super rare exception that I post/PM or try to do anything that has a negative feeling. That being said my posts in the discussion forum are much more direct and biting then many people have or will ever hear from me so I want to explain myself it.

I feel that not being able to post with expired sub accounts is a horrible part of the new PI. For lots of reasons. But one of the main ones is that it has a negative effect on our community and that is the part the riles me up the most and gets me the most mad! I'm not claiming to speak for anyone in particular but I know that many of our players are really upset with this and I am happy to jump in and make sure these voices get heard.

I won't go into the details about what is posted there, feel free to check it out if this is a topic that bothers or interests you. Also feel free to post any concerns you have here or send me a PM! I know Pooka has gotten at least one "I love what your saying, but I'm afraid to post there" messages and if you are in the same boat feel free to write me and I'll make sure your voice is heard too!

As you already know -- I completely and utterly agree. There are several things I truly hate about new PI but this expired sub-accounts issue just.. ugh.

You all already know I'm very close to dumping PI as a whole and ONLY stay for the two/three adoptable groups still there. But this thing -- could be my last straw if we don't hear from an admin soon.

I feel like our arguements/opinions are not being validated when they don't even take the time to just say "We see this" in that thread .. And don't get me started on the other people posting in there who are basically telling us "Too bad so sad." Because really -- they aren't mods or admins.. They need to just stop.

Basically -- constructive conversation is what we need and most of those who view things in favor of the new PI are not being constructive -- just poking the bear.

Do remember that the Admins are getting married and going to be gone for a while - just because they're not posting right now doesn't mean they won't take our complaints into consideration, they just might not be available right now.

I hear ya Toxi! I can take my own knocks, but when others in our community are upset I get all riled up. (honestly not always a good thing, I'm done some of the dumbest things I've ever done when Pooka was upset about something and I got involved... everything from writing harsh PMs to nearly enraging a group of cowboys who were much bigger and scarier then me... I rarely get this way but I go a bit crazy when I get all defensive of the people I love)



Hopefully things work out on FR, (-8 I know we have a few pony fans here, but I've never been one of them! I don't mean to offend anyone but PI is both awesome and toxic at the same time. Their art rules make no sense (and support all sorts of wrong ideals) and... a few other things I won't post in public but have always given me much concern. For example someone proposed add supported free accounts and PI has a flowery explanation why they won't ever do this. But the real truth is no reputable add site would deal with PI because of how they run their 'business'.


I would like to maintain a tie to PI but they are making it harder and harder for me to want to be there at all.

At the moment I'm taking no feedback as they have not fully contemplated or decided yet. A prolonged no feedback will become "we don't want to deal with it" or "we are not going to change"


That being said most adoptables I've seen completely fail without a host site. Our community is awesome, but it requires a bit of extra stimulation to keep everyone interested I think. Ponies to feed or dragons to train while the artists are arting etc...

Soooo, off to test some other sites out! (-8 (if anyone wants to play a fun game about how long Mr. Pooka has been contemplating this check out many major internet sites that we could move to and try to get yourself a Sphinxes account, (-8 bet you'd have trouble!)

The one thing that bothers me is when I see someone like you mad or upset. Its the last thing you deserve, after being there for all of us.

That said, I completely agree with you but im not sure I can post on that thread without saying something I really shouldn't. I think that they nerfed many of the aspects of the forums in general, this is just one of them (since most RP accounts are used..on the forums)

All I can say is, I'm really sorry to have missed the FR signups the other day. I have a feeling I'll be needing a new site soon, so I might as well follow Sphinxes!

I fully agree, I think taking away messaging and forums was a dumb move. I think it was Raenia who pointed out that we still post the same amount and use the same bandwidth and whatever else. The accounts themselves never disappear either so its not like it costs PI anything. I just don't feel like dealing with the objectors who seem to feel the need to try and police the thread or something. *shakes head* I did make a small post though just to show there are more people involved.

I just want to head desk from the mess of it all. I don't see why they're making it such a big deal about posting. Like others have said, it's such a small thing. A VERY small thing. As I've been telling Toxi, I'm ready to move. I have a bunch of useless accounts now that I refuse to renew.

EDIT: I've been on PI for a long time >.> I almost left once from their stupid art rules they made, but this really has taken enjoyment out of... well, most of everything I do on PI; adoptables.

I just came over to see where you guys might be heading if you do leave PI, and I just wanted to make sure you guys knew that FR has a strict one account per person policy, that I'm pretty sure is at least decently well enforced, so it might not be the best PI alternative for you based on the main reason behind your leaving. Although it's definitely a fun site so maybe you should all just join anyway Or it could still work fine for you anyway. I just wanted to give a heads up to hopefully avoid further potential drama

Also I could have sworn I'd had an account on this forum, but apparently not o.O Even though it's been a while since I've done Sphinx things.

Also I feel that in the interest of full disclosure, I have to say that I'm technically on the side of those saying it's not unreasonable for expired accounts to not be able to post/message, but I do think it really sucks that multiple adoptables are now in a bit of a bind/have issues as a result. It's always been a fun addition for there to be RP accounts for things, plus more inboxes to sort mail for large adoptables is also super useful. I think the way it was handled is the biggest issue. And that thread on PI is kind of heinous, overall. I'm not super impressed with the way most people in the thread are behaving, on both sides (even people I like! Which is, once again, people from both sides)

I know. ^_^ But if FR allowed unlimited sub accounts, never put up a rule against it, made those extra accounts so that you could just post... then one day just took them away, well then I would be riled up. It's not the wanting sub-accounts but more that it was something offered, that we paid for, and now it's taken away with no explanation.

If it was just something affecting me I would kinda grumble, maybe post about it once in some side thread or PM, and eventually shrug and just think that PI is really screwing up. But I know that many sphinx stalkers bought many extra accounts JUST for roleplaying in our threads with accounts based/named after their sphinxes. I always loved that, that always made me smile, and now so many people being screwed over without even a reason just... I feel so defensive for everybody here and partially responsible.


Ugh, and I hate even looking at that stupid thread. I tried to say something positive and it came off the wrong way. I was seeing people pop in arguing about this situation who weren't even a part of it (ie. people arguing about sub-account who didn't even have any. O.o) So I was scratching my head going 'why in the world are they posting on this? Are they just trying to argue for argument's sake because they like making people mad? If so they're just making this much, much worse without a good reason.' so I tried to make a note that people who aren't really in this situation probably shouldn't be arguing about it, it was just going to make things worse.... and now everybody seems to hate me for it, a mod stepped in saying it wasn't fair, but all I wanted to do was find a more round-about, nicer way to say 'hey, common guys, no trolling. Don't just argue because you feel like a fight.' *sighs*

Raenia -- OH I understand they are in the middle of wedding prep and so on. But to that argument I would pose they shouldn't have moved PI over until after it then. Because really -- that just seems like a stressor that they could have avoided.

Pooka & Mr. Pooka -- stupid people are stupid and I agree.

Also about FR -- at least we're starting there knowing multi-accounts are not allowed. PI should have AT LEAST given us a heads up before just doing it. I'm sorry but the not allowing the paid but now expired accounts to even post on forums such as adoptables gen, or Non-pony trade is stupid. And I"m sure you all know the reasons for such.

I completely agree that they had terrible timing here and should not have planned the rollout so close to their wedding! That was just terrible planning on their part, and it's not going to make this any easier. All I'm saying is, we shoudln't be entirely surprised that they haven't weighed in yet, since they're no doubt drowning in other concerns. Not saying it's not their own fault, just that we'd do better to be patient.
